My classroom is made up of 22 eager to learn 5 and 6 year-olds. They come from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities. For many my classroom is their first school experience. I strive to make them enjoy school and help them become life long learners. Granby Elementary school is a Title 1 Elementary School, which is located Norfolk, VA. Many of our students have low income, single-parent, or military backgrounds. Diverse, dynamic, determined, and destined are words that accurately describe our 115 Kindergartners! Our diversity is evident in our student population, which includes ESL (English as a Second Language), Special Education/Inclusion, Autism Inclusion Program and General Education students. This year 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
