Thank you for donating to my project. Students are so far behind in Math and you gave them the materials they need to succeed in class. Using pencils and calculators in class help the students be successful and gain confidence when solving Math problems. Students struggle daily with just arriving to school that they should not have to worry about if they have a pencil to help them be successful in class. I stress the importance of how making a mistake shows that you are learning and without pencils, they are afraid to make mistakes because they are unable to "fix" their mistakes.”

Thank you for donating books to our classroom. Reading is a very important skill for all students to learn. These books have been very popular in my classroom and we are now able to provide my students books that they are interested in.
The students are working hard to meet new reading goals this year and this range of books has helped them work towards their goals. Students read books for roughly 20 minutes a day in class and I enjoy seeing all of them engaged and begging to be the next one to read a book.”

Currently, my school district uses the Smarter Balance (SBAC) tests as their state test to show growth and progress over the course of the academic year. This test is taken solely on the computer, and requires students to have experience with technology. Due to the economic status of my students and the current state of our schools technology, they do not have the technology skills required to apply the knowledge they have gained in the classroom. These Chromebooks and tablets will give my students the necessary experience they need, at school, to show how they have excelled throughout the year.
