  • Diverse Readers Need Diverse Books

    Funded Apr 9, 2025

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my students! They are going to be ecstatic to receive all of these wonderful, diverse new books. It always amazes me what a little teamwork and kindness can accomplish for our students. The books will be treasured, but your generosity is truly the biggest gift in my eyes. Thank you again!”

  • Wiggle While They Work

    Funded Feb 12, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. My students love their new wobble stools so much! They allow for so much more safe movement while they work, yet still keep them engaged and focused. They also love using them to work in alternative places, such as by the counter, or in a corner for a small group discussion. Some of them even come up to work at my small group table not necessarily because they need help, but just to use the stools when it's not their day to have them at their desks. This simple addition may seem minimal to outsiders, but bring so many smiles, as well as increased productivity, to my classroom. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart”

  • Diverse Readers Need Diverse Books

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Thank you so much for your gracious gift. Putting books into the hands of eager young learners is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Through your gift, we have been exploring historical events, seeing how different characters can have different perspectives, learning to make stronger inferences while they read, and of course learning about other cultures. My students love seeing characters that look like them and share a cultural identity with them as well. These wonderful books are constantly being rotated from reader to reader. And it warms my heart to know that these books will continue to touch the lives of my future classes for years to come as well. Thank you again for truly valuing the power of putting books in the hands of all learners.”

  • Fidgets and Flexible Seating in Fourth Grade

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you for contributing to my classroom! My students have been getting so much use out of the floor cushions. so much more comfortable for group work than our hard cement floor. I am also enjoying my rolling stool when working with groups and reading aloud to the class on our rug. Students also enjoy it when they get to "be the teacher" and lead the class in reading or math. The fidgets have been great prizes, but have also come in very handy to help students relieve stress while going through state testing. And of course, being Oregon, we have gotten plenty of use out of the puzzles during many inside recesses. It is fun to watch them work on their problem solving and perseverance skills through play. They even like to "race" to see who can complete one the fastest. There is no way I could afford to share these gifts and supports with my students without amazing donors like you. You really are true angels to us. Thank you again!”

  • Creating a Library that Reflects our Diverse Cultures and Emotions

    Funded May 11, 2023

Thank you again for your generous support of our classroom. I feel so blessed to have community supporters like you helping my students. They love all of our new books! Not only are they enjoying having diverse books and characters that look like them, but they are enjoying sharing about their cultures more with their classmates, as well. I already have a waiting list for several of their favorite books. Some of them I will be saving to share with my new class in the fall though. I know I keep saying thank you, but I can't say it enough. These gifts you have given, whether big or small, have a huge impact on my students and how I get to teach them about the world. You really are our "book angels" as one of my students said. Thank you!”

  • Building Creative & Collaborative Minds

    Funded Aug 23, 2022

Thank you for your generous and thoughtful gifts to my classroom. You have blessed us immensely. My students love challenging their minds with new puzzle games and books. They love to cheer each other on as they complete them as well. Their creativity is never ending with the STEM activities and boards. Just please don't remind them how much they are learning while they think they are just having fun. These resources are utilized almost daily, and I never could have provided these opportunities without your support. These will be treasured for years to come.”

  • Extra! Extra! Help Us Read All About It!

    Funded Aug 9, 2019

Thank you for giving to our classroom. Your gift of magazines was extra special this year with the spring closures for Covid-19. Not only did my students love getting a new issue while we were in the classroom, but when we switched to distance learning, I was able to do porch drop offs of some of the paper issues as well as open them up to online versions digitally. It doubled their access, and their learning. Parents shared how their child look forward to the consistent arrival of their magazines in both forms. A little bit of predictability during very trying times. Thank you so very, very much!”

  • Our Minds are Ready to Grow and Grow!

    Funded Jul 30, 2019

Thank you once again for supporting my classroom. My students are thoroughly enjoying the stimulating games and activities you helped provide for us. It is great to listen to them have productive struggles, and have students find ways to shine that might not as easily with general academic activities. The various Rubix's cubes are definitely a favorite right now, and they get so excited to hear what our new discussion topic will be from our social-emotional box. They are enjoying them so much, they don't even realize how much learning is going on! Thank you for taking the time to select our class and offer your support. It means so very much to us.”

  • An Organized Library = More Readers

    Funded Oct 30, 2018

Thank you so much for taking the time to support our organized library project. The kids are thrilled to have their new book bins and rotating bookshelf. And I am thrilled to have an organized, clutter-free space. The children gained a great deal of ownership by helping me create the book bin categories and deciding what system we wanted to use to organize the books. I see a huge improvement in their ability to select appropriate books for their interest and reading levels. They are even keeping our other bookshelf more organized as well. A few boxes and a shelf may seem like a simple thing to you, but to my students, it has meant a great deal. Thank you again!”

Our school is a public school in a high poverty area, with a very diverse student population. There are roughly 40 languages spoken in the homes of our students. Approximately 75% of our students are on free and reduced lunch. Many of our students come from families struggling to meet even basic needs. Yet our students eagerly come in everyday, ready for new discoveries and new challenges. Because of the positive attitudes towards learning that are being fostered here, our students fight hard to excel. We want to continue to encourage these learners every step of the way with as many experiences and opportunities as possible. Although these gifts you are sharing with us may seem small, they will bring great joy to our students, and will be treasured deeply.
