  • Every Child Deserves to Be Seen

    Funded May 11, 2024

My students were extremely excited to receive the multi ethnic dolls and dolls with differing abilities to incorporate into their play. One of the areas they've been used often is in big block construction. The children have built structures where people live and then use the dolls to play in them.

Seven different languages are used by children in my classroom. There are many students who wear glasses and one has hearing aids. There is also a child who uses some ASL and an AAC device for communication. The children are represented by the dolls that were purchased by your generous donations. We thank you very much for your investment in the young learners in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Blaine

  • Comfortable Seating Helps Us Learn

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

Thank you for your generous donation. My students were filled with excitement when we opened up the boxes and they saw their new flexible seating. They immediately started thinking of ways we could rotate through so that each of them had a chance to try out the new seats.

For all of my students, it's fun to have a "cool" kind of chair to sit on. And for many, it helps get their wiggles out as they are doing their work. They use them throughout the day while working on math, writing, and reading. It's amazing how something like what type of chair you sit in can help with focus and engagement. It truly makes a difference for these seven and eight-year-old learners.

I appreciate your support in helping me create the best learning environment for my students. The kids and I thank you from the bottom of our heart. You are making a difference in the lives of children.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Blaine

  • Help Us Become Mathematic Marvels!

    Funded Oct 12, 2013

Thanks for your generosity in donating to my project. The cheers and smiles on the faces of the kids in my classroom on the day we received our new math games was heartwarming. They could hardly contain their excitement as we took each game out of the box.

My third graders use the Beat the Clock games and Math Facts Centers on a daily basis. They are excited to use them during math and ask to use them frequently at other times of the day. I see increased confidence and fluency in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, which is the goal of this project.

The kids want me to share the following with you.

-The games help me with my math and I feel like the games are just my speed.

-They help all of us a lot. Because of you guys my parents are impressed with my work.

-These games help me a lot on my math facts. It used to be really hard, but now it's really easy. You are the best.

-They help me get better with my math because they are fun to do. Every time I practice I get faster and faster.

-The facts centers are fun and help me learn more. Beat the Clock is a challenge. I try to beat my record and do math fast.

-It really helps me become faster in my multiplication, division, addition and subtraction math facts. I like Beat the Clock because I like how it is learning and fun at the same time.

-The math games help me. My friend tests me with division using the Division Math Fact Center. I usually win. With the help of Division Beat the Clock, I can now do division one hundred percent right in 32 seconds! I love these math games! Thank you.

-You guys are the best people in the whole entire world.

-The games help my brain get smarter.

-They really help me get faster at math problems. I don't feel pressured when I'm using them.

-They help me get faster at math and because it is so fun I do it again and again. I get faster as I practice. Now I'm great at math.

Engaged, excited and determined are words that describe my students as I watch them using these new materials. I am confident they will continue to master their basic math facts and encourage their classmates to do the same.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Blaine

My busy second grade classroom is filled with children who are culturally, linguistically and academically diverse learners that are eager to come to school each day. I want all of my students to be able to see life experiences, that may be different than their own and to be able to learn to accept others no matter the differences.
