Magic Carpet
Funded Jul 20, 2022Thank you so much for donating a carpet to our classroom. We literally use it everyday! Before covid, we had a wonderful carpet that was donated to our school, but it had to be disposed of during covid. Now we are back to using this carpet that was donated by YOU everyday!
Student love having the chance to change up moving from a typical classroom seat to spreading out on a carpet to work. Flexible seating is life changing for kiddos who need some extra space and need something different for their learning. Thank you!”

Making Our Classroom Home Again
Funded Jul 2, 2022This was a HUGE project that I could not have funded without you. Many of these items have made this classroom feel like home and so many of my students treat this classroom like a place safer than their own. I appreciate your donations, but I appreciate your support even more. I couldn't do a job like this without support from my friends and family.
Students are reading these new books, working with these new materials, and using our flexible seats every single day. I love updating our classroom library every chance I can get so that students can keep up with books that relate to their current circumstances. Some of the books you all helped purchase included themes that students can relate to now and had stories that students go through now! This includes books about the 9/11 event and about refugees coming to America. Students reading about these events helps them find a connection that they may not find anywhere else.
Thank you again, donors. You have made the impossible possible!”

This classroom project was brought to life by SONIC Drive-In and 10 other donors.Ready for Recess
Funded May 17, 2022My students have been enjoying recess more than ever. This is because of your generous donations! Students are able to play football, basketball, and kickball because we have the resources now to do so.
I had one student this year come up to me and say, "Mrs. Bishop, we didn't have any recess equipment last year, so thank you for letting us play!" That has been one of the highlights of this year. I love seeing kids enjoying being kids and having the opportunity to just play and socialize! So many students have made new friends and lasting connections because they've been able to play a sport or just toss a frisbee back and forth. It's a joy to see!
We started the school year off with this brand new equipment and I think it has helped set the mood for the brand new school year. Thank you so much for your help in making this year the best year yet!”

New Novels for Ninety-Eight Noodles!
Funded Feb 26, 2020Wow! Our classroom is beyond thrilled at the impact these books have already had. So many of my students are reading these in their free time. We can't keep them on the shelves! That is a good problem to have because I know that they're getting back to being engaged in reading.
We have also started to read two of these books as read-alouds for the whole class. One of them is Pax. The other is Fish in A Tree. These books help me differentiate lessons for my groups of kids who on different levels. Pax is a higher level for the group I am working with and it helps push them to the next level. Fish in A Tree is a lower level book and it helps me relate to the students I am working with because it talks about how some students struggle with reading. We have a lot of deep conversations about what that book means to my students and it is eye-opening to see how they relate to the characters in the book.
We cannot thank you enough for your generosity in donating. So many of my students have been asking, "When will you get new books for your library?" or "Why are so many of your books so run down?" So, this has been helpful in making them excited about reading and showing them why I am always so excited to begin reading!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Alane Adams & The Rise Up Foundation and one other donor.Chromebook Organization
Funded Oct 22, 2018Thank you so much for your donations to our classroom's products. The students use our computers organizers every day and love to have a space for them that is easily accessible. When my students first saw the materials, they were overjoyed with excitement! They knew how much we needed this to organize our room and to have space in their work areas.
My students use these to get their computers off of their desks while they are working with other books or paper and pencil at their desks. They put their computers into the storage units you helped purchase while they work and get them out of the storage units when they are finished working. It helps keep their work space clean and makes them feel more organized.
Thank you again so much for your donations and we look forward to seeing how well they work now that they have access to this resource!”

Flexible Fifth Grade Seating!
Funded Aug 6, 2018Thank you so much for funding our classroom's flexible seating project. It is because of your kindness and gratuity that my students are engaged in learning and independent reading time. When my students first saw our new seats, they were so excited. They immediately asked when they could sit there, for how long, and if they could sit there right now. Their immediate excitement let me know that this was a game changer.
Every day right after lunch the kids are allowed to sit in flexible seats. They may sit on a bean bag chair, our little couch, or one of our stools or pads. They love to move around the room and sit by friends while reading a book independently. My students are truly engaged in reading and I can tell that when they get to choose where they sit, they are more willing to listen to directions and to be interested in what task they are working on.
I am so incredibly over the moon about this project being funded!!! Thank you again for your kind donation. Please consider sharing my new project that will help me organize our Chromebooks in our classroom.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bishop
