Funded Sep 10, 2020Our school site, built in 1979, underwent a major renovation. Over the summer, my fifth grade classroom got new carpet, new paint, a new writable wall, new technology, and a new roof. It felt wrong to welcome a new group of students into a newly refurbished classroom with an old classroom library.
When COVID-19 interrupted the start of our in-person school year, the big reveal was delayed. We were finally able to return to the classroom at the end of September. The students were thrilled with the newest of everything, especially after being home since the previous March. Desks were spaced 6 ft apart, which left little room for any other furniture in the classroom. We were grateful for the wall hanging shelves which freed up needed floor space.
At this time, we are allowed to maintain a minimal classroom library. Books are rotated to maintain safety. Our other shelves are used to display classroom favorites and other supplies for easy access. Thank you for this gift.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Biggie
