  • Lighten Up Our Learning Space!

    Funded Sep 10, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations which made this project possible.

Our classroom was formerly a science lab, so there are a lot of overhead fluorescent lights, which can be overwhelming. We also don't have a window. These nature themed light covers allow us to bring in some "outside" elements to make our space more comfortable and engaging.

The fish tank bubble tube light is a huge hit! We placed it in our cozy corner to help children calm down and self-regulate. It is such a peaceful addition to our room.

Lastly, the light projector has been so much fun! We have dance parties and special scenes on the ceiling during rest time.

My students and I appreciate you very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Davis

  • Discovering Fun in Our Discovery Center

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Happy Holidays! Thank you for your contributions that allowed us to add fun new materials to our discovery/science center! My students absolutely love the shake and reveal cards and the mystery sound tubes! I have noticed that different children are now choosing to explore in the discovery center because of the new materials. It is awesome to see how the children are interacting with not only the toys, but with each other! They're using new vocabulary words and asking higher order thinking questions, thanks to you! We appreciate you helping us foster a love of learning in our little ones!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Davis

  • Mini Mathematicians

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

Thank you for helping us get new Lakeshore math center materials for our preschool classroom! I believe it is so important for our little ones to learn through hands-on, play based activities. I want my students to love math, and to be excited about going to the math center daily. These activities made our math center more fun and inviting. The students enjoy the number locks, number-bots, links, and sorting manipulatives and games. They are now working together while learning about shapes, counting, number recognition, etc. Thank you for helping us set the foundation for a love of learning!”

  • Building Up Our Block Center

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

We are so happy to have these fun new materials in our block center! The students often choose the block area during free play/choice time because they can be so creative in building houses, cars, farms, zoos, etc. They love the new wooden home accessories that help them expand on their ideas and really encourage creativity and language development as well. The garages and vehicles/street signs have also been a big hit with the children, they love to build cities and "travel" around them. Thank you for your contribution to this project!”

  • Piece by Piece- Putting Together Our Puzzle Collection

    Funded Jun 22, 2023

Thank you so much for helping to fund this project to get several new floor puzzles for our classroom! These are always a popular choice and really help with building friendship skills and supporting teamwork. The students have been busy working on the "All Are Welcome" theme puzzle during this first full week of school. I am so excited to be able to switch out these puzzles seasonally and to match our study themes throughout the year. I know the students will love seeing the new puzzles and working together to complete them. Thanks again for making this possible!”

  • Printing a More Colorful Classroom

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Sorry it has been a while since I sent an update. We have been so busy learning this spring! The addition of our color printer has been such a big help in our classroom. I am able to print decodable readers, small group lessons, center activities, and visual aides for our class. The students are much more interested and engaged when the printed materials are in color instead of black & white. I am able to send projects created or downloaded from my phone and laptop directly to the printer, which saves a ton of time on my planning. The Ecotank printer does not use much ink, so it will last a long time. I can't wait to see what all we will use it to create for the rest of this year & when our new students arrive next year. Thank you so much for making this project possible!”

  • Rolling Into a New School Year with Storage for Students

    Funded May 10, 2022

Thank you so much for helping us get rolling storage carts for our classroom! I am thrilled to have these portable storage units so that we can implement "Brain Bins" with our new students (children will choose a drawer with open-ended manipulatives and STEM materials) when they arrive at school each day. This time will provide them with choices and the opportunity to play with their peers before we start our daily work. We will also use the drawers for center activities (math and language) and for small group materials. Thank you for your donations & your support of my students!”

  • Language and Literacy for Little Learners

    Funded Mar 5, 2022

Thank you so much for helping us get new language/literacy materials for our classroom! My students were so excited when our delivery arrived. We all sat together at the carpet and opened each item to see what we could learn while we played with our new "toys". The children took turns trying them out and I was thrilled to see that even the students who might typically struggle with reading and spelling were having fun and being successful using these new games and activities. The next day, several students asked (as soon as they walked in) when it would be time to get our "new stuff" out to play again! I'm so glad they're eager to learn through play, and we are very appreciative of your help making this possible!”

  • We Can’t “Contain” Our Excitement!

    Funded Dec 14, 2021

Thanks so much for helping us obtain new containers and organization stations for our classroom! They are so sturdy and immediately made a positive impact on how independent the students could be during center time and small groups. The calming colors matched our classroom environment nicely.

I have been able to introduce new learning games and materials on our student choice shelves since we got this project funded. The students are able to take the "tub" of their choice back to their table to work and can easily find the correct place to return it upon completion. They also have a great place to keep scissors, glue, and dry erase boards for group work.

Thank you for making this possible!”

  • A Brand New Book Nook

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Thank you so much for improving our classroom library! The book nook provides a comfortable, cozy area for students to sit and read with a friend or a book buddy (stuffed animal). It also has neat storage areas for our alphabots, phonics magnets, and other literacy materials. The twinkle lights were also a great addition! Before we got these items, the children rarely chose to go to the reading area, but now they are thrilled when it is their turn! Your donation is much appreciated and is making a positive impact on our young readers!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Davis

The kiddos in my classroom love "choice time" (free play) because they get to pick their own materials to explore. The letter stamps, puzzles, floating bubbles, locks, robots, & rockets will help them begin to recognize the alphabet in their environment. They'll be so busy "playing" that they won't even realize how much they are learning in the process! It is critical that young children learn to use their words to express themselves. The language photo cards and positional words game will build vocabulary skills for all students, but especially those who may struggle with expressing their thoughts verbally. All of these skills are very important when the children move on to kindergarten and beyond. Your donation will help build the foundation for their success in school and instill a love of learning in their little hearts and minds!
