3, 2, 1... Breathe and Welcome to Our Calming Area
Funded Jan 3, 2023Students may not have the weight of the world on their shoulders but to them managing their emotions is a learning process. Some know how to regulate their emotions because they have the skills but some of my students need a little extra help.
With my project, they have been able to use the Calming Area to reflect on their actions as well as give them a space to go when they need a break. They use the magnet blocks to create houses and other structures to help them concentrate. They use the liquid timers as guidance to know how long to stay at the calming center.
Overall, adding a calming area to my class has helped my students to be aware of their emotions and how to manage them when they feel a like they need a break from our class. Thank you for your support and contribution to our classroom.”

Using Tech To Learn About Math
Funded Nov 29, 2022My students are eager to learn new material about different topics. With this new technology, a different world opens up for them. Now they have the Whole Wide Wed at their finger tips. They are able to look up information on topics they are learning in class. For example, they are learning about Ancient Greek Civilizations. This is a new topic for them this year so they are encountering information that they have never heard of. By looking up some of the names from the unit on the laptop, they are more prepared to share with their peers and they are more informed about the unit.
They used tablets when they were in the previous grade. By having a laptop in my class, they get familiar with how to use a keyboard. They used different typing games to help them with learning the keyboard. It's a learning process but I'm glad they have access in my class with this project. Thank you again for your support.”

Funded Nov 30, 2022Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. With your support, my students are able to have their supplies for class in one place. Since they are with me for a limited amount of the day, having our materials ready to go is crucial and helps us get straight to business. They keep the highlighter, pencil, dry erase marker, fabric to erase, plastic sleeve with worksheet inside, and letter tiles all inside the pouch they got from this project. Since the pouch had a place for me to add their names on a card, I will get to reuse the pouches for multiple years.
My students were over the moon when they saw the boxes being unveiled. Previously, I used gallon size bags to store their materials but these pouches are more sturdy and should last a while. Having their own materials, and not having to share with others in the classroom; gives them a sense of ownership. They are more organized now than they were in the past, and they are happier because they materials are their own.”

Funded Aug 10, 2022My students and I are excited beyond words! With the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I was able to find different resources to help my small group instruction as well as classroom decor. I used the laminating sheets for the sound wall and the affirmation station. My students can store their supplies in the zipper pouches I got from my project. With all these supplies, the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards the laminating sheets, and the zipper pouches will help enhance my instruction and help my students be organized. Thank you again for your generosity and support.”

Funded May 5, 2020Thank you for your generosity. I am grateful for your donation. With this project. I was able to purchase different activities that will help my students with their online learning during this pandemic.
We are focusing on Social Emotional Learning this year since students are not able to have interactions with each other at school. We open up our meetings using our Feelings book to discuss positive things that are happening in our lives. It also includes a mindful stretch that the students and I do throughout the day. I was able to print out the activity and give it to my students so the students can write down their information. But the activity can also be done virtually using Google Slides.
I also purchased various activities for Math and English Language Development that my students can do virtually since I am able to download them onto my Google Drive. I can assign them to my students using the online platform and they can work on them. Thank you again for donating to my project.”

Funded May 6, 2020Many thanks for your generous donation. My students are also really grateful. Now they don't have to beg their families to be quiet while they are in our Zoom meetings.
With the use of the headphones, they are able to hear who is talking during the meeting without any distraction. Some of my students have siblings who are also taking online courses so having the headphones are extremely helpful. Also, when they speak, we can hear them clearly thanks to the microphone on the headphones. All the exterior noise is canceled out with the microphone.
My parents were grateful that they didn't have to buy any additional equipment for their children. With this on going pandemic, and the need for distance learning, these headphones are an essential tool to have during our online classes. Thank you again for your donation and generosity.”

Funded Apr 30, 2019It's so easy to take for granted the supplies that are readily available to some at their work locations. By having my project funded, I was able to print items using different colored paper. I was able to send out notices to parents that they knew to read because I told my students, make sure you show your parents the yellow paper. My students got awards that I was able to print for them using colored paper. Most importantly, I was able to run copies of different games for my students to use during group time. Having the games in different colors, makes the games easier to organize for the students and myself. So thank you for your generosity, I'm not taking for granted what you have offered my classroom. Thank you so much!”

Let's Print Colorful Projects!
Funded Nov 30, 2018I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Having a printer in the classroom has made it much easier to do different tasks with my students. I have been able to print their picture and create a wonderful card for their family. I have been able to print our pictures for Science and Social Studies. The pictures are used for them to compare and group alike characteristics. Then they discuss with a partner why they believe the picture belongs in that specific category. They get excited when I show them the pictures and they get to discuss the characteristics. Prior to having a printer, I was only able to show them black and white photographs. With the printer I received through your generous donations, my students are exposed to different realia that would not have been made possible before. So thank you again for your help.”

Funded Dec 15, 2017My students were surprised that our class got a set of tablets to use in class. I have been able to upload some programs to help enhance what we are learning in class. Since my students are in kindergarten, they need additional help with hand eye coordination and the apps I downloaded have helped them. They are also learning how to use the QR code reader to access material I want them to look at for our habitats research project. The code gives them access to a web page that gives them information on a particular animal. This part was the trickiest since it was difficult for them to steady the tablet on the QR code and then access the website. They love that they are able to not only use the tablet to reinforce the skills they are learning but to also use it as a tool to look for information. The cases and screen protectors are a life saver since small hands have a hard time of keeping things safe, no matter how many times I tell them to be careful. I hope to create more activities that will strengthen my students technological skills and get them ready for the future, after all, they are the graduating class of 2030. Thank you again for your generosity and support.”

Funded Dec 13, 2017My students were surprised to receive the markers, crayons, stampers, construction paper, and play dough. With these items, it has been easier for them to create projects. We are learning about different animal habitats. The students are going to create dioramas of the habitats to show parents what they have learned about different animals and why they live in the habitat that they live in. I have also used the items to help my students create a name craft. They have made their name out of construction paper, play dough, and they even got to stamp out their name. Since they are in kindergarten, its helps to use these items to make learning fun and interactive. For the animal habitat project, they get to create an animal out of play dough and then draw the animal with realistic features using the other materials. It has been a blessing to receive these items and I can't wait to see the great things that my students will create. Thank you again!”
