  • Back to School Basics

    Funded May 12, 2024

With this project, I will give my students the essential tools they need to use during our small group time. They can practice their penmanship skills with the dry-erase marker while properly forming the alphabet. They can use the highlighters on the decodable passages to highlight the spelling pattern we are reviewing and the high-frequency words in the passage. We will use the Flaire pens when we have fun on Fridays and draw something for our families. Using the markers, their drawings will stand out and capture the viewers' attention. Thank you for being so supportive of my classroom; we truly appreciate it.”

  • You Get a Reading Buddy!

    Funded May 9, 2024

My students were excited to see more puppets in the library to use as reading buddies. I let them select an animal stuffy to put in their reading bags so they could use it when we reviewed our decodable passages. They may have gotten a bit distracted, but it has made it more engaging for them to read to someone.

With your support, my students have embraced reading aloud and becoming fluent readers. Seeing their faces full of joy come from a puppet of their own, makes my heart warm. We truly appreciate your support and kindness to our project.”

  • Let Me Share What I Found

    Funded May 3, 2024

Thank you again for equipping my students with an iPad, Apple Pencil, and iPad case. My students are working on their astronomy unit, and they can research information to finish their reports on the planet they are researching. The Apple Pencil makes it easy to scroll on the screen and to write on it. They feel like the teacher being able to use the iPad with the Apple Pencil. The iPad case comes with a keyboard, which is nice when you want to type on a keyboard instead of the screen keyboard. Thank you again for your support and kindness towards my classroom. We truly appreciate it!”

  • Let's Play a Game

    Funded May 6, 2024

My students were ecstatic to have a variety of games on Fun Friday. They liked the Popcorn game but were disappointed that it wasn't real popcorn. They will now review their high-frequency words, word families, and words with blends while having fun. They will play a Uno game with a phonics spin to it. My students will think it's just a game, but little will they know that they are reinforcing the reading skills they learned throughout the week. I am truly grateful for your donation, and the smiles on my student's face that this project has delivered. Thank you again.”

  • Let's Flex Our Seating Options

    Funded May 9, 2024

Let me tell you, my student's faces when they saw the boxes around the table were a great surprise, but when I let them open the boxes and take out the chair, there was a smile from ear to ear. They were excited to receive the wobble chairs and fell in love with the blue color. They hugged the chair when they took it out of the box. I let them choose where to sit and which chair. They all selected the wobble chair. Sure, they may have been a bit distracted, but they were happy to have an option in seating. Of course, all of them wanted the wobble chair. I can't wait to have my students use these chairs daily. I am incredibly appreciative of your support of my classroom. Thank you.”

  • In Living Color!

    Funded Apr 25, 2024

Thank you so much for helping us create a print-rich environment. My students and I are incredibly thankful. We have created anchor charts, and posters students can always refer back to when needed.

Also, thank you so much for the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. It has helped me purchase various grade-level resources that will help us meet grade-level standards and expectations. I will ensure students get fresh, quality resources to maximize their learning potential and keep them excited about doing their best work.

Thank you again for your support; we truly appreciate it.”

  • Prizes for Motivation

    Funded May 6, 2024

I had some prizes in my tresure box but when I put the prizes from this project, my students faces lit up when they saw inside! I tell you, you have brought so much joy to my students. On Friday's, we play games to review the skill they learned during the week, like high-frequency word Bingo, alphabet Bingo, and other review games. If they win, they get to select a prize from the tresure box. It takes them a minute to select a prize now since they have more choices. They can get a fancy pen that has different colors, a notebook, a squishy toy that comes in different shapes, the transformer fidget spinner has been a hit. I'm saving the bubble wands to give them at the end of the year when we have a bubble party to celebrate their growth in reading. Again, thank you for supporting my classroom and making my students smile.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barraza

  • You're So Smart That You All Get A Prize!

    Funded Apr 17, 2024

My students were excited to open the prize box and see new items. They get to play games like high-frequency word Bingo to reinforce what they are learning in class. The winner receives a prize. They asked for pens, pencils, and fidget toys, which this project gave them. I also used the TPT gift card to acquire reward certificates to give to my students for the progress they have made this year.

It brings me joy to see the smiles on their face when they get to select from the new items. Your donation helped motivate my students to keep doing their best work; for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. We truly appreciate you and your kindness.”

  • That Writing Looks Good, Must Have Been The Practice!

    Funded Oct 17, 2023

We greatly appreciate your generous donation. My students were excited to receive the shipment of magic boards, they couldn't wait to open the boxes and started using them right away!

We have used the magic boards to draw a face of how we are feeling before we start group time. We also use the boards to write the letters to the sounds I give them. They especially like this because they are able to practice writing the letter in manuscript and cursive. When they make a mistake, they just use the magic wand to erase and try again. We have used them to write words when we do word work. The magnetic letters are helpful because the students can reference them to write the letter properly.

Again, thank you again for your support and generosity; we greatly appreciate you!”

  • Read About It and Create!

    Funded Apr 25, 2023

Thank you for your donation to my project. My students were excited to receive the STEM kits, books, and Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) gift card. I put the TPT gift card to use right away by purchasing some STEM activities for the end of year as well as some summer activities that the students can do with their families.

We mixed ingredients to make slime and the kids loved seeing the interaction of the materials and how it turned into slime. They were able to make their own creations with the STEM kits. I was able to have them learn about an inventor by reading the books we got through Scholastic and then they recreated some of the inventions.

Again, thank you for your generosity.”

I work as an elementary school teacher at an inner city school in California. Some of my students are English Language learners, but most are English only students. My students come to school for an escape from their harsh environment. Most of my families live in poverty and have limited funds for extra school supplies for their children. With my projects, I have been able to help my students learn different subjects, like health and art, through the use of manipulatives, hands on activities, and a material not easily attained at my school due to funding. With your donations to my projects, my students will have access to material that will help them not only learn but make it fun to learn.
