  • Student Desks Are Not So Square Anymore!

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

Thank you so much for your gracious donations. My students are now able to have group discussions art, math and science projects without having the disconnected feeling because the table seats 6 students as opposed to two. The students were excited to sit around and have table talks and feel a part of a group. We are so grateful. The atmosphere in the classroom has even changed and it feels more united. What a difference the type of table makes when allowing children to work together. Thank you once again for bringing us closer together.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barraza-Vazquez

  • What's A Better Book Than A Chromebook?

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

Thank you so much for your kind contribution towards our class. Due to your generosity my students are able to access educational sites in the classroom such as dreambox, lexia, epic, and brain pop Jr. These sites help the students practice skills in reading, comprehension, and math in a fun way.

The chromebooks are a new way of learning that is exciting to the students. It allows them to continue learning in a different setting with differentiated instruction. All the students are huge fans of the chromebooks and can't wait to use them everyday.

    We are forever grateful!”

  • Information Systems Needed

    Funded Dec 20, 2016

Thank you again for your donation. My students have enjoyed using the chrome books. They can't wait until it is their turn. The programs that are being used by the students are designed to meet the students individual needs in reading, math and other language arts concepts. Without your support, students wouldn't have the extra support that they are receiving now that we have two extra electronic devices in the classroom.

The students are placed according to their levels with an initial assessment that is given to them and after that they are able to advance levels and make progress within the class in a fun way. Some students even ask to stay in for recess so they may be able to use the chrome books. I had to make special schedules so that everyone would get an equal amount of time. The students and I are truly grateful for your support.”

  • Pillow Time and a Book

    Funded Dec 15, 2016

My students were excited to see the colorful pillows when they first arrived in our classroom, especially since it was right after winter break AND they are still very excited to use them during daily independent reading time. They have become very popular that we have had to make sure that they are all having equal opportunities to share them. We have been using them for a couple of weeks now and they really have helped the students feel comfortable while reading, which keeps them reading for longer periods of time and staying more focused. Without these cozy pillows it definitely would not of been more fun and exciting to read books. The students feel as if they were at home and not in a school setting. We still continue to build our reading skills and stamina but I have seen great progress among the students. We are grateful for having these materials in the classroom.”

  • Let's Get Organized!

    Funded Sep 15, 2014

I wanted to thank ALL of you for the gracious donation you made to my students and classroom. The sacks have been useful in so many ways. The kids were so excited to have extra storage space that was easily accessible to them. Not only could they store their various subject folders in them but they were able to put name tags and have an extra pocket to store smaller items.

We are able to use the storage sacks at every moment of the school day. As soon as we move onto a new lesson the students don't have to get up and put folders away and grab the following folder that is needed nor do they have to try and shove any work into their desks. Everything that they need is at arms length, it's right behind their seat! It is the everyday organizer for every subject. Due to us having a place to store our extra materials right behind each seat is not only a time saver for instructional time but it allows the students to learn how to be neat and organized.

Because of contributions like yours, my students will now have optimal time for instruction and be organized scholars.”

    With gratitude,

  • I Need a Kidney!

    Funded Apr 29, 2014

This is a small token of gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The kidney table is useful in so many ways everyday. My students were so enthusiastic to be able to sit in a functional and spacious piece of furniture that not only three of us could sit at but six students and myself could work together at.

We are able to use the kidney table during our word study instruction, english language development small group lessons, when we gather for reading or math groups and even during art! It is the everyday gathering place during every subject. Due to us having a place like this to meet, my students are able to work comfortably. Being able to meet with small groups helps me better individualize student's needs.

Without contributions like yours, my students, and many students to come, may never have had a suitable place to work on during small group instruction.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barraza-Vazquez

I have a curious and highly-motivated group of third graders. They are hard working and are excited to learn something new. I teach in an inner city public school in South Los Angeles. It is a Title I school, which means the majority of students are from low-income families. Their eagerness to learn can be a challenge, but with your help I can help provide opportunities for them.
