A Little of This, A Little of That
Funded Feb 27, 2023Thank you so, so much for your generous donations. Your funds have brought objects into our classroom that made smiles!
Fraction apples and hundreds charts are a HUGE hit! Having a 3D version of fractions brought to life the understanding of halves and quarters. It even helped with our moon unit when figuring out what it is a quarter moon but images only show half is shaded!
The social emotional books have been a great help as well. Not only is it helping navigate big feelings (Sometimes It's Hard to be Nice is a class favorite), but also help when learning to read with expression.
Thank you again for your support!”

A Place for Everything and Everything In Its Place
Funded Sep 20, 2022Thank you so much for helping us get the shelves to organize! Active learners need lots of space to organize and the shelving helps greatly! Currently it holds math tools students can use, individual clipboards, individual ipads and accessories, and books boxes to name a few!
Students love that I can move the shelf around to make student areas and quiet work zones. Many like to use the quiet table in the middle to concentrate on their work with all the materials close at hand.
I cannot thank you enough for your continual support for making my classroom the best it can be!”
With gratitude,

What to Do with a Paper-Based Library During Virtual Teaching?
Funded May 5, 2020How can words really express how much this means to me! As you can see from the photos, this document has taken remote teaching to the next level! I am able to model how to respond to reading. I am able to model tapping out words and smoothing reading while students can see the text. I can also share stories that my students love and new favorites.
Thank you for helping me bring not only my print library to my students across the internet, but also helping them see me manipulating sounds with word cards, modeling good writing and also breaking up and putting together words. No more awkwardly holding up to my webcam or bending spines of books!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

Funded Oct 20, 2019My class and I wish to thank you for the bottom of our hearts! When the carpet came, they could not contain their excitement! The exclamations of "OUR OWN SPOTS!" and the rush to settle in was instantaneous! Everyone takes their own "spot on the grass" very seriously. I can tell that having a personal spot has made anxieties reduce greatly! We have used the carpet in so many ways - from a large ten frame during Math to a great place to read during Reading and even a HUGE game board! The possibilities and creative uses of the carpet are endless! I cannot thank you enough!”

Learning Blooms in Our Classroom!
Funded Sep 10, 2018How can I express my thanks for your speedy and generous donations? The photos uploaded show how much love and care the students have for the table! They love the fact they can do word work, math problems and sentence writing upon the surface. They make sure to use placemats when building STEM projects or gluing in their notebooks to ensure the long use of the table for years to come! In fact, they have such pride in the table that they look and take care of every mark, either real or imagined! Again, thank you so, so much!”

Rockin', Bouncin' and Focusin'
Funded Apr 19, 2018I wish you could have been a fly on the wall in my classroom today. I explained that the boxes we were opening together were new seating options for us thanks to the generosity of all of you! The joy on my students faces when I took out each piece was electric!
"Wow! Look! Balls!"
"Those look like real trees! Can I use one right now?"
"These make my chair so much better! Thank you!"
Right away, the materials are in use any I am hearing discussion about how each student can get a turn to get what they need and also rules on how they can care for them so next years students can enjoy them as well. You can tell my students really are excited and care for items when they make rules on their own! From the bottom of my heart and the hearts of all my students, thank you.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Barenboym (Mrs. B)
