  • Much-Needed Sensory Support!

    Funded Jan 23, 2019

Words can't express how thankful I am for your donations. We were so excited when the boxes arrived. My students loved opening the boxes and testing all the cool new fidgets. The sensory items that were donated were a huge benefit for my students. They all created sensory tool boxes to use throughout the year. These sensory tools allowed me to meet their needs on a daily basis and allowed them to learn with the proper supports. My students enjoyed using all the fidgets during needed breaks and testing. Thank you for helping me support my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Baez

My students benefit from sensory supports. Some students use calming strategies when they become overstimulated or overwhelmed are; repetitive movement (rocking/pacing), deep breathing, reading, drawing, or playing with putty are examples of a few. When overly stimulated my students need a sensory break. The fidget toys, flexible seats and stress balls requested will help me provide them with additional support in the classroom. My students also need assistance in learning the socially appropriate ways to socialize with their peers. The educational games will help promote socialization and communication skills in the classroom. Many of my students struggle in these areas.
