  • Learn Science

    Funded Feb 26, 2024

Teaching elementary students about life science : animals and habitats and

planets, the solar system is so that they have some understanding before they dive deeper into it in upper grades.

Most students in elementary schools do not understand our planet Earth. They do not comprehend what is a planet, what are continents, countries, cities and how much water our planet Earth embodies. They do not understand our solar system and how the objects in space work and so on.

Exposing students to simple science at a young age is very important, because it stimulates curiosity and hopefully interest in their future

Thank you for your kind donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Attaryan

  • Bookmarks, Pens and Reading

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

Thank you for your kinds donations. This kind of donations helps our students receive bookmarks and such to inspire reading. It is also a great incentive to motivate behavior,

to stay on task and more.

When you are an emergent reader it seems like you will never be a fluent reader, but with some inspirations you try everyday to reach your reading goals.

My students get to pick a special pen or bookmark every Friday for being an outstanding and attentive student in the classroom. They always look forward to

    these special prizes.”

    Mrs. Attaryan

  • Science and Technology

    Funded Oct 29, 2023

The impact of teaching my students where countries are located has been amazing.

Most students in elementary schools do not understand our planet Earth. They do not comprehend what is a planet, what are continents, countries, cities and how much water our planet Earth embodies.

Seeing a levitating globe in the classroom, although not too large can spark interest in

a child's head. Students begin to ask questions regarding country locations, axis and much more.

Exposing students to geography at a young age is very important.

Thank you for your kind donations.”

  • Cheer Team

    Funded Mar 1, 2023

Thank you for your kind donations and thoughtfulness. My students used the items received during our END OF THE YEAR, teachers vs students softball game.

They were so excited to cheer for their fellow peers who were playing agains the staff of our school. The sparkly blue and silver pom poms were a hit at the game as the other students from the other classes also wanted. We were able to share some with some of our school's SPED students, who were overly excited to get their hands on.

Our students made up their own cheers so that the students could defeat the staff.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Attaryan

  • Stay Happy

    Funded Dec 28, 2022

It is so important to have social emotional related items, such as incentives to keep students engaged and happy.

It is also important to have hands on items to help with projects. We made play do with the items we had asked for. My students were so excited they had made something all by themselves. After choosing a color and mixing all the ingredients I cooked the mixture and they were able to take it home with them.

Thank you for donating to my classroom. Without our donors not much can be accomplished in our classrooms. When you contribute to our schools you help every student succeed.”

  • Dance Team

    Funded Mar 21, 2023

Because of your donations we were able to practice our dancing using our shoes and skirts. My dance group practiced twice to four times a week. My students were happy to have dance clothes. It is important to have the proper shoes and skirts to dance Flamenco. My dance group performed during our Community Fair and had their families see their performance. It was a good experience for third through fifth grade students go on stage and do a performance in front of hundreds of parents, teachers and other students.”

  • Reading Black Beauty

    Funded Jan 27, 2023

We are busy reading our new chapter book "Black Beauty" in our 4th grade class. My students were so excited to have a brand new chapter book that they covered and illustrated on the front cover and they get to take it home and read chapters daily. As we read each chapter we analyze characters, talk about the book's setting, the story's problem and finally a resolution.

We also do writing assignments that connect to the text. For example some students chose the main character, are doing a writing piece on his obstacles.

We are appreciative for your donations.”

  • Build Together

    Funded Nov 26, 2022

Thank you for taking interest in our classroom and for your contribution. My students were extremely excited to learn that they would be able to build and experiment with these STEM resources. On rainy days they stay indoors and play with board games. One of the newest items is our STEM Newton's Laws set. They spend a lot of time collaborating and working on the pieces. We (our students and our staff) are lucky to have thoughtful donors who are continuing to help us provide these resources for our students.”

  • Financial Literacy

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

We're thankful for the generous donors who gave our students the opportunity to have needed items for their learning. I serve many underprivileged students who do not always have the opportunity to have a new books, notebooks, journals in their hand. Your gifts have helped nurture a love of literacy and writing in my classroom. This is a good opportunity the for 4th graders to read along with the classroom and have literary discussions about the characters, plot and more, and write. Fourth grade is a critical year to motivate students to fall in love with literacy.”

One area our public school students need more of is public speaking or performing on stage. I volunteered to teach this class because our students need and want to show their creative side. Our students need to create, perform and feel confident in order to succeed in the real world. This class gives students self confidence to speak in front of audiences. The art supplies will help this Theater Class make the costumes and props needed for our plays. Our class consists of performing and creating props. Without the needed supplies not much can be accomplished. In this class students will have specific parts in a play. They will learn and memorize lines, sing, act and create stage art. All their costumes will be made in the classroom with the donated items.
