Worksheets are boring all by themselves, and it would be nice to switch it up with some Jenga blocks. Having colored blocks could be used in conjunction with the worksheet, making it be more engaging. They pull out a block and that color would match a problem on their worksheet, which they would then solve. These lock boxes will be used as an engagement tool to solve problems in both Language Arts and Math. The children complete challenges involving clues and are given a code to unlock the box, wherein lies their next challenge. The possibilities for using these are endless and can be applied again and again to different content. I have a few students who really need help with handwriting, and the lined whiteboards will make it more fun to practice on. The sleeves will also be great for switching up a worksheet by allowing them to use a whiteboard marker, which they love! The other things: UV tape, blacklight, and the prize wheel will be used in transforming our room for when it's time to review for our Benchmark tests. Our room will positively "GLOW" with energy and engagement as we use these to make our review memorable and FUN! I have done several room transformations this year and it's amazing to see how excited the children become about learning.
