They Did What?! TIME For Kids
Funded Aug 20, 2017Thank you for donating to my classroom. My students can't wait each month for the new TIME magazines to come in. When they see the packaging in my hand you should see their faces light up.
As soon as I pass them out I let the students have free time to look and discover on their own with a partner. This is my favorite time to walk around and see/hear what interests them the most. I get to have heartfelt conversations with them based on their own interests.
Since I teach math and science I use the magazines mostly to enhance my science instruction. I try to tie it into one of my science standards and then it normally turns into a research project to find out more.
My partner teacher loves that we are using the magazines and says that she is seeing an increase in their stamina for reading informational texts. She also says that for some she is seeing a love a reading starting to spark inside of them.
I can't thank you enough for giving my students this opportunity to use this resource!”

Funded Jan 5, 2015When I told my students that we were getting the Elmo they were so excited. The first day I set it up they were amazed at how easy it was and how clear they could see me writing. They have even named it!
My students are so excited to share their work now because they can just take their paper and put it under the camera for everyone to see. We use it almost everyday in the classroom for math and we have even been using it to help with our science notebooks!
This camera has increased my student engagement during lessons and at the same time decreased behavior problems during the lesson. My students no longer feel frustrated when trying to use manipulative's because they are able to watch me use them correctly. I can't believe how much of an impact one device has made on my classroom! Thank you for giving my students a chance.”
