Developing Writing With Journaling
Funded Aug 9, 2023Your donation of a classroom set of color pencils, Large Post-It Easel pads and journals made a lasting impact on my first grade classroom. My students were able to develop their writing skills with the materials that you generously provided.
I was able to model pre-writing skills for my students on the large white easel pad by making a graphic organizer with them. They learned how to plan a writing topic and carry over what they learned onto their own graphic organizers. Afterwards, they were able to write in their journals. The students illustrated their writing using the colored pencils you provided.
Most of my students families would not have been able to purchase the materials on their own. You provided a means for my students to learn and grow in their writing. They loved using their journals and showing everyone their stories. You made a lasting impact on my students.”

Funded Aug 13, 2019My students and I appreciated the blue flexible seating chairs that you donated to my classroom. The students were delighted when they saw the chairs at the center and they couldn't wait to try them. They were excited to come to the teaching center to try out the new chairs.
The chairs were placed at my center to allow students the ability to move around and work during instruction.Previously, the students were more distracted when I had the regular chairs. Having the ability to move around in their space helped the students remain focused to complete their assignments.
My students have benefited from having flexible seating in my classroom. They are more productive and creative. They especially enjoy coming to my center because they get to use the chairs. It makes learning fun.My plans for the future are to have more flexible seating options at centers throughout my classroom.”

Funded Dec 16, 2016Thank you very much for your generous donation to purchase the listening center and alphabet CD's and activities. My students look forward to using the listening center all the time. They have learned how to identify the beginning sounds of words and are learning how to read words. My students reading comprehension levels have increased through the use of the listening center. The wireless headphones allow them to focus on the sounds and enjoy listening to stories and songs without interruptions.
Your kind donation has impacted a whole classroom of eager readers. They look forward to learning about the world with enthusiasm and joy.”

SmallGroup Centers
Funded Mar 1, 2015Thank you for your generous gift of Common Core Math Learning Centers. There are many activities in the box that cover many strands of the curriculum.
My students and I where so pleased to have such versatile centers. My students were amazed that someone they didn't know, would buy them learning materials for math. I told them that you both cared about them and wanted them to learn about Common Core Math. We are grateful to both of you.
There are many activities for the students to do that assist them in learning and practicing Common Core Math. My students are grouped by ability level and they rotate around the classroom every 15 minutes. At each center they practice a Common Core lesson that has been already taught. They use the manipulatives provided in the center to count or strategies. The center contains plastic covered worksheets and white board markers for students to write their answers. There are several ability levels in the center. The activities challenge the more proficient students and also help reinforce skills for other students.
My students test scores improved after using the math centers. The centers provided a fun and independent method for my students to have a deeper understanding of math. We appreciated the gift very much and found it very useful.”
