Flexible Learning!
Funded Aug 14, 2024I can not believe your generosity to our community! Our students will truly benefit from these supplies this year, and years to come! The needs in a classroom are always changing and the list is always long. I am forever grateful for this community's willingness to support our students and their learning in the classroom.”

Funded Aug 23, 2023The focus in our classroom has been amazing! When students are using their technology, they have excellent headphones that allow them to hear the reading and instructions on the activity. No more wasting class time to search for a pair of headphones that they can borrow from a student and testing to see if they are broken. And I am not needed to read aloud a passage multiple times to various students anymore, as they can hear it on their Chromebooks.
Also, who knew how valuable a mouse would be for a Chromebook. I thought the touch keyboard would work just fine, but it turns out students are able to navigate much easier with a mouse. The mice we have in the classroom are efficient and work well, making their work a lot simpler to complete.
I am thankful that the students can hear me with my microphone, and I don't have to shout, repeat directions and eventually lose my voice. The instructions are crisp and clean, and they have everything they need for success.
Thank you so much for your donations to our class. The entire class is benefiting from it, along with students for years to come.”

Funded Apr 8, 2022I can't even describe to you how awesome our PE experiences have been since receiving this donation. Our students always look forward to PE but they were often frustrated with broken equipment, or other classes using the only set of dodgeballs that we have, etc. PE has been reignited and it is so much fun!
Not only has our own class benefited from this equipment (last year and this year) but all the 5th grade classes have been enjoying it and we even got to use it for our school wide kickball game. We have the 5th graders vs the staff members and it is something our whole school is looking forward to each year.
It is so wonderful to plan our PE time around what we have in the classroom and not have to make do with what is left in the shed. Thank you again for helping us with this experience!”

Funded Sep 15, 2020My readers were enthralled with the new books. They were completely engrossed in the stories and it brought normalcy into the classroom, after the craziest year. We are still using all the books now passing the stories and adventure from child to child. Even now as schools slowly get back to normal, there is nothing like sitting down with a good book (some students are even tempted to read ahead of us)! I am forever grateful for supporters like you that are always willing to lend education a helping hand!”

Flexible Seating Is Flexible Learning
Funded Nov 13, 2019My students have been beyond thrilled with the donated flexible seating items. Thanks to your support, students are able to thrive in a comfortable environment. They are comfortable physically which also brings them mental peace and comfort.
When the students saw the boxes arrive in our classroom they were overcome with excitement. I had each student help me open the boxes, assemble the products, read the labels and test them out. Over the last few weeks, students have been rotating and sharing the new items and they are finding a groove with their favorite item.
At the beginning of each week, students choose a seat and stay there for the week. We are working out the kinks like what is the appropriate way to use the seating choice while maintaining a good learning environment. I think a lot of students are learning about themselves and what they need to be successful individuals. It is not always about sitting next to your friends, or peer, but rather how you are sitting/working that is important.
It was so funny to share with them that when the adults in their life were in school, these options were not available. Everyone had a desk and a chair and that was that. There was no sitting on the floor (except read aloud's) and you most definitely didn't get a choice. They are so grateful for the opportunities they have in this day and age, all thanks to you!”

Funded Feb 22, 2018I can not believe the impact the new flexible seating tools have had on the students attention and focus. The new stools, cushions, chairs, etc. have allowed them to feel more comfortable and safe in our classroom allowing them to focus more on their school work and less on their physical needs. It is obvious, when you walk into our classroom, that students have more confidence and a sense of being.
When the students found out that our project had been fully funded, they were over the moon! They had such ownership of their classroom, really feeling like it was their own, and they were ready to take on the responsibility of caring for these new things. With each box that we opened, it was like Christmas, and they volunteered their recess time to put together each thing carefully. For some of them, this is the only place that they can really be themselves.
Our next step is to close out this year on a positive note with our sense of community strong and ready to take that next step (some of them middle school and some of them in this classroom next year). Throughout the year, these students have pushed through school and personal problems and practiced and understand that your best effort at all times is the only thing that is acceptable, nothing less. We are so thankful that you were able to help make this year THAT much more special for us.”
