Math Leaders
Funded Nov 16, 2022We are extremely grateful for your kindness and donations to my classroom! We have been using the math manipulatives during stations and while working on fractions. They have been such a great tool to give my students a more visual learning experience.
As well we were in desperate need for the headphones. My students absolutely love the colors and how comfortably they fit on their heads. They have really aided in a more productive classroom.
We are so thankful for all the supplies that have really helped us become math leaders in and outside of the classroom. We could not do it without your help and love!”

A Colorful Holiday Season
Funded Nov 21, 2021I just want to genuinely thank you from the bottom of heart! My students were so excited when they entered the classroom and saw that they each had a beautifully wrapped present under our Christmas tree! At the end of our holiday party they were allowed to unwrap their presents. I counted down from 3 and all of my students had the biggest smiles on their faces as they ripped through the wrapping paper. :) My students loved the color boards and used them to draw and color pictures until the end of the day. To my surprise some of my scholars even used their board to create and solve math equations! The multiplication flash cards will definitely come in handy as my students continue to master their multiplication facts. Thanks to you all, my 5th Graders were truly able to experience a Colorful Holiday!! I will be forever grateful!”

Leadership Through Literacy
Funded Aug 13, 2017I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donations. My classroom has changed drastically since receiving the I-Pads and the easel. Prior to receiving the items, students were not very excited about reading and writing. During instruction I would hold the attention of some but many others were not focused. However, all of that has changed from the moment I received the boxes containing my literacy items. The I-pads and easel are both items that I have built into my daily literacy instruction.
When I first received the I-Pads, I'm not quite sure who was more excited, my students or I! I opened the box to reveal the contents and my students were elated. Taliah shouted, "Are those your I-Pads, Mrs. Harris?" "No," I told her. "These are our I-Pads and we're going to use them to help us become better readers and writers." We use the I-Pads in our reading stations. Students use them regularly to visit a site called Spelling City where they play spelling, grammar and phonics games. I am able to differentiate instruction and allow students to read and practice spelling words on their individual levels. We also use the I-Pads to visit Epic which has an online inventory of books at various reading levels. Because of the I-pads we are able to have access to hundreds of books that we normally would not be able to obtain.
The easel is also an equally valuable tool within our classroom. Prior to receiving the easel, I would post a message using the projector and ask students to help me edit it. Needless to say it wasn't very exciting and I always had a hard time holding the students attention. I would have the same handful of student willing to offer to read and help me to make corrections. Now I write the morning message on the easel and have students come up to the easel to make corrections. I now have 100% participation. EVERY STUDENT in my classroom wants to be the individual chosen to read and edit the morning message. As one student is editing, the others are watching carefully, to see what other corrections can be made so that they can be called on next. Thank you so much!! You have made a world of difference in my classroom!! Due to your graciousness, I know that my student's reading levels will sky rocket!!!!”
