Teaching in a low-income area, where I need to fund the majority of the learning resources for my students, my money runs out before our needs do. Having to change out literacy centers and small group activities on a near weekly basis, it's hard to find things to keep children fully engaged.
In Kindergarten, it is important that each child leave knowing their letters and coordinating sounds. With the Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs, the possibilities are endless for hands-on learning experiences in both small group and center environments. The Tubs will be used to introduce and reinforce letters and letter sounds, manipulatives during learning centers, and throughout our daily Morning Meetings. Some of my students are busy adjusting to the English language and will benefit tremendously from having tangible items which are readily available to them.
Having the Tubs organized in the Teaching Tub Storage Rack, each Tub will be easily accessible to me when I need it during small group and Morning Meeting time. No long will have to scramble to find what I need or find an area just for the Tubs. The Rack will also provide a safe way to store the Tubs for years to come, keeping them newer, longer.
The All About Letters Pocket Chart will provide another small, whole group, and center activity for indroducing and reinforcing letters and their sounds. Children will also use it to write the letter, another very important objective for Kindergarten learners. The simple poem that accompanies the letter will reinforce their reading skills, even if it means practicing reading from left to right. This Chart is a wealth of learning in one small product.
