Keeping Our Home Away From Home Germ Free!
Funded Jan 9, 2018Thank you again so much for funding this project! The children were so excited when our packages came! They LOVE using the Clorox wipes to clean everything.
Having the paper towels is awesome as well. First graders are pretty messy, and the school frequently runs out of paper towels. The kids know exactly where to go to get them when they spill something. Sometimes I think they are spilling just a little on purpose to get to use the paper towels. :-)
Having the baby wipes is also a blessing! When we do fun painting or hands on projects, its easy to have the kids wipe their hands with the wipes, instead of having all 28 of them try to line up at the sink.
The kiddos also love using the cups and plates when there is a birthday that day. They love picking which color cups to use and passing them out for everyone.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts! We ”

Funded Jan 25, 2018Thank you again for funding this project! When the books came, the children were grateful to have more books to put in their book boxes! They love changing their books out every week, and having more choices really helps! The paraprofessionals who come and help us in the classroom were also excited for the books. They pull groups of kids out in the hallway and work with them. Having these extra books means that we don't overlap with the books I am reading with the kids and the books that the paraprofessionals are reading with the children.
I appreciate all of your support and donations to my classroom!”

Funded Sep 24, 2017Thank you again for funding this project! The children have absolutely loved having the STEM projects as morning work. They come into the classroom excited to get moving and working. Most of the classrooms in our school do paper and pencil morning work. We started a new trend, by creating morning tubs! The children can start on them as soon as they are done with breakfast, and don't have to worry about "finishing" their work before breakfast is over. The children are learning from the STEM tubs and they don't even know it! They have learned how to build cars, houses, bridges, towers, and all sorts of things. Sometimes they follow the pictures and sometimes they use their own imaginations. Thank you so much for funding this project!”

Funded Sep 13, 2017Thank you so much for your donations! The children absolutely love the stem bins! We use them for morning work right now. The children come in every morning excited to build things! They have built different cars, houses, trucks, vans, and buildings. They have also loved making bridges for the cars to "drive" on. The students also love creating obstacle courses for the marbles and balls to go through.
These stem bins are just amazing! I love seeing their creativity every day. Thank you so much for donating to this project. These stem bins will be used for years to come!”

Keeping Our Books Safe!
Funded Aug 25, 2017Thank you so much for donating to this project! The children LOVE the book bins they received. They keep their books, workbooks, and pencil pouches in the book bins. They even got to pick out what color book bin they got! We don't have desks or cubbies, so having these book bins to keep their items in helps us all stay organized and keeps me sane! :-) The children know exactly where to go to get all of their items and no one loses any of their materials! Thank you again, so much for funding this project!”

Organizational Skills and Independence!
Funded Jul 25, 2017Thank you so much for funding this project! The children love having the mailboxes to put all of their papers and fliers to take home in! It keeps them very organized. The children also love the mobile drawer organizer! Our centers for the week are kept in the drawers and the children love the fact that everything is always in the same place and is easy for them to get to! It gives them the feeling of independence that they can go to the drawers and get their centers supplies all by themselves! The children also love the photo boxes, we keep our task cards inside of them. The children (and I) love the fact that it is easy to keep their task cards organized and easy to clean up. Thank you again,so much for funding this project!”

Funded Jul 31, 2017Thank you so much for donating to this project! The children were beyond ecstatic that they were able to start the first day of school with brand new pencils, crayons, and glue sticks! We can already do cut and pasting activities because of the supplies you were able to supply us with! The parents were excited for this project to be funded too! They LOVE the homework folders we got! They are much more sturdier then folders from other stores, and hopefully will last all year! They are also very helpful because the pockets are labeled Left At Home and Bring Right Back to School. It helps the parents to know what stays home, and what comes back to school. It also helps the children differentiate between left and right.
Thank you so much for funding this project!”

Listening to the World Through Books!
Funded Apr 28, 2017Thank you again so much for your donations! We have so many more books for listening centers now! We are able to have the listening center every week now, with how may listening center books we have. The ultimate goal will be to have 2 books per week. You helped us get closer to that goal! The children cannot wait to listen to all of the new books! We are putting it to a vote of which books to listen to first. The children will be able to learn so much from these new books. Each book has a different concept that they will learn as they are listening to the books. These will also promote independence, as the listening center is run by the children. Thank you again so much!!”

Chairs? No Way! Yoga Balls Are Here to Stay!
Funded Jul 5, 2017Thank you so much for donating to this project! The children love the different types of flexible seating. The children love being able to choose which type of flexible seating works best for them! During centers they are allowed to move around to whichever seat helps them focus best! The wobble stools so far are a favorite! They love the fact that they are exercising while they are sitting! The yoga ball chairs are also a big hit with several of the students. They love being able to bounce without having to worry about the ball rolling away when they get up. Thank you again so much for funding this project!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Clorox Company and 5 other donors.Butterflies and Other Science Projects!
Funded Apr 26, 2017Thank you so much for donating to this project! Our class was able to share this experience with the other first grade class as well. They would come to our classroom and I would project the caterpillars on the board for all the students to observe. They absolutely LOVED it! We even had a guessing game going for how long the kiddos thought they would stay caterpillars and pupa. When it was time to release the butterflies the kiddos were a little sad, but they thought it was the coolest thing scooping the butterflies out of the butterfly house and feeling how soft their wings are. Weeks after we released the butterflies, the kiddos would run up and tell me that they had seen one of our butterflies (a possibility, but unlikely :-). This experience really changed their lives. Thank you so much!!! :-)”
