Ready, Set, Learn!
Funded Sep 5, 2022Thank you so much for funding this project!
My students have LOVED using play-doh to help them learn their letters, letter sounds and sight words! They also have loved using it as a brain break, they come up with some pretty cool animals, trucks, and other things when playing with their play-doh!
My students LOVE to color, and I mean they LOVE it! Every Friday we do a directed drawing and they adore drawing and coloring their pictures and hanging them up in the hallway for everyone to see.
We use our pencils every day, and Ticonderoga is by far the BEST pencil out there!
My left handed students are extremely grateful for the left-handed scissors, they can cut so well now!
Thank you again for considering my classroom when making your donations. I try to do everything I possibly can to help my students out, and it means the world to me that you all take the time to donate to our class.”

Learning Letters and Numbers!
Funded Dec 9, 2021Thank you so much for funding this project!!
My students LOVE the play-doh! They were super excited to pick their own color of play-doh. If I let them, they could spend HOURS using the play-doh to make their names and sight words. Some of them even asked if they could start using their play-doh to help with their addition and subtraction problems!
Having the page protectors was a game changer in our classroom! I could easily swap out letter tracing for sight word tracing, numbers 1-10 for numbers 11-20 to trace, and so many other things! The students loved being able to work independently on their writing, and I loved that they thought it was so much fun!
Thank you again for donating to my classroom. It means so much to us that the DonorsChoose community is here to help us with our classroom needs!”

Funded Aug 28, 2021Thank you so much for funding this project! My students were able to start the year ready to learn!
Having the pencils and notebooks were so important to us! We have been practicing writing in them every day. Because of the pandemic, a lot of their fine motor skills are lacking. So having pencils and notebooks was so important and amazing for us.
Having crayons has also been amazing. Children love to color and draw. The students get a chance to color every single day, and it is so nice that they each have their own set of crayons.
Thank you again!”

Funded Sep 3, 2021Thank you so much for funding this project. We use the dry erase boards every day! I love being able to see who is understanding what we are learning in just a couple of seconds! The children write down their answers on the dry erase boards, and I can immediately see if they have the correct answer or not. I know exactly who I need to work with after the lesson to help them understand the concept.
We have also been using the dry erase boards during small group time. The children practice writing numbers, letters and sight words every day. Thank you again for funding this project!”

Funded Oct 15, 2020Thank you so much for funding this project! Having these notebooks has been such a tremendous help! The children were so excited to hear that I had notebooks for them to practice their writing in.
While virtual, writing has definitely been one of the hardest subjects to teach. I can't see how they are holding the pencil or help them form their letters. With these notebooks, I can share my screen and show them exactly how to write. Then because they have the SAME exact notebook, they know exactly what to do!
I love the pictures they send me on our virtual learning platform of their writing.
Thank you again!”

Black History Month Project!
Funded Oct 8, 2019Thank you so much for funding this project! I was on maternity leave when my students actually read these books for Black History Month. My long term guest teacher said they were amazing! She said the children enjoyed these books so much! Thank you again for funding the project. These are books that I will continue to share with the children I teach for years to come. I cannot tell you how amazing it is to have books that the children love to read and listen to! I had projects planned for each book as well, and the long term guest teacher said the children enjoyed those as well!”

Dry Erase Boards for Firsties!
Funded Oct 24, 2019Thank you so much for funding this project! It was amazing being able to use these in the classroom! Having individual dry erase boards for each child is such a blessing. The children loved "racing" to write their answers down first and flip their boards up in the air for me to see! I will also be using these boards in this coming school year, by sending them home for the children to use while we are remote learning! It will be a quick way for me to check if they are paying attention to the learning, and to see if they understand the concepts. They will have to hold the board up to their cameras for me to see the answers, and the boards are just the right size for that!”

Funded Aug 14, 2019Thank you so much for donating this project! The kiddos were so excited to know that we have fun and healthy snacks to last us through a good portion of the school year. It also motivated some parents to bring snacks in as well! We are so thankful to have healthy snacks to keep us going throughout the school day. The kiddos love choosing which type we will add to the snack bin next, Cheez Its have been their favorite so far, with fruit snacks coming in a close second.
We are constantly talking now about how it is important to have healthy snacks, no chips or cookies, so that our brains can concentrate better and we can learn more! Thank you again!”

Funded Aug 21, 2019Thank you again for finding this project!!! We have pencils for the whole school year now! Each kiddo started out with 2 pencils and each month they will get another pencil. Pencils in a classroom are like socks in a dryer; they disappear constantly! Knowing that we have enough for the whole year, and getting them early enough so I could label them with the kiddos names was and is amazing!
The kids love having pencils with their names written on them, and the kiddos know that Mrs. Meek is very particular about her brand of pencils, because they last the longest and sharpen the quickest! So thank you again for funding this project!”

Funded Jul 31, 2019Thank you again for funding this project!
My students were so surprised and happy to learn they were starting the school year off with all of their school supplies! We jumped right into learning the first week of school! The children love their crayons, scissors, and glue sticks.
The children love using the Lysol wipes to clean up after breakfast and snack. Having the wipes keeps their tables clean while they are working. There is no worse thing than getting a paper turned in with breakfast food stuck to it.
The children use the Cottonelle wipes to clean themselves up after gluing or painting projects.
Thank you again for choosing our classroom to fund, we love and appreciate you all!”
