Finding Their Voices Through Writing!

My students are letting their voices be heard! With their new headphones with microphones, my budding authors are thriving. They are more engaged, more enthusiastic, and more confident as they efficiently and effectively express themselves using voice-to-text programs to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and talents. They have expanded their vocabularies; instead of using the "small" words they know how to spell, their writing has blossomed with the "big" words they really want to use. They take risks with content by adding detail, description, and volume that previously just felt "too hard." In addition, those with fine motor skills deficits can "write" whole paragraphs in the same time it previously took them to complete one sentence.
