Softball Time!
Funded Sep 14, 2016On behalf of the entire Lizarraga Elementary, a heartfelt "thank you" to all who successfully made this project possible. Because of your generosity, countless number of students in our school will be able to benefit from the softball equipment provided.
It is widely known that physical activity programs are a powerful vehicle for teaching youth social and life skills and acquiring positive attitudes, values and morals. Many studies have demonstrated the positive effects of physical education and physical activity on school performance. Several studies have stated that providing increased time for physical activity can lead to better concentration, reduced disruptive behaviors and higher test scores in reading, math and writing.
Thank you for investing in my students!!!”

Funded Sep 1, 2016Wow! When we received our boxes full of sports equipment, my students were extremely overjoyed. Now that they've had the opportunity to use most of the equipment, they have had a lot fun both in-door and outdoor; This past winter we didn't get to go outside much due to the extreme amount of rain that fell; however, because of our sports equipment, we were still able to have fun using the strider and emoji balls.
My students are especially looking forward to sports day this Spring; they will be able to have fun while having competitive games.
Thank you for helping us stay fit all year long while having fun!”

Funded Aug 12, 2016I am so thankful for the delicious snacks, water and wipes that you so kindly provided us. My students always looked forward to coming to the learning center to begin their day with a nutritious snack. Having their tummies fully satisfied truly impacted learning outcomes. Providing them with the small bottles of water was ideal because they satisfied their immediate need to drink water without causing restroom disruptions.
Your generous donations helped my students to be more alert and eager to participate in group discussions. Thank you!”

Funded Mar 9, 2016Dear Donor,
The ink has been one of the most valuables resources that has helped my students develop the four reading domains (Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing).
As seen in the pictures, I printed visuals to help my students with recalling key details that led towards understanding by grasping the meaningful facts and connecting to the story of The Little Red Hen. The students were truly motivated to participate in the group discussions; this enabled students to expand on their understanding and then to write about the story.
Because of your generous donation, I am able to provide visuals of all narratives and expository texts. Thank you for giving my English Language Learners the opportunity to develop the four domains of reading.”

Funded Dec 30, 2015Thank you all so much for your generous donations to our project!! We are so excited to have these rechargeable batteries so we can be kinder to our environment. Unfortunately we live in a disposable world and material things are valued above all else no matter the cost but I believe that small changes go a long way to do good things for the planet our children will ultimately live in and be responsible for. Your more than generous donation has gone beyond just helping a classroom, it has helped the planet! Thank you.”

Funded Dec 23, 2015Dear Donors,
Finding the right reading materials for my students to enjoy had been difficult since reading was a struggle for my students. However, with the Scholastic News magazines, I noticed that they were drawn to the illustrations/pictures. The text patterns allowed them to read successfully and grasp the main concepts. They loved watching the videos and using them along with the magazines to engage in discussions.
My students always awaited anxiously to see what new insect or fact they would learn every week.
We are truly thankful for this wonderful resource!”

WooHoo! We Are Germ Free!
Funded Dec 14, 2015Thank you for this amazing gift that you bestowed upon my students. Our class smells good and it's also germ free. With such unpredictable weather, rain to wind to sunny days, it's important that I ensure that my students remain healthy so that they may be in school.
The resources you so graciously provided are exactly what we needed. The hand sanitizers, swifter jet cleaner and wipes have truly made a difference! I use the wipes to clean the desktops and pens. The swifter keeps our floor clean and the class smelling refreshed. The hand sanitizers keep students germ-free.
Truly, we are very thankful for these resources.”

Learning To Read Through Music
Funded Dec 31, 2015The DVDs that you so graciously provided, have made a big difference on students' reading achievement.
My kindergarten students love the Singable Songs for Letters and Sounds DVD. They look forward to beginning the session with the dancing and singing. All students are experiencing success learning the letter names and sounds. Some have even started decoding simply CVC words such as pet, can and fox.
My first and second grade students are experiencing reading success as they learn vowel teams and digraphs by dancing and singing along with the Sounds Fun Phonics and Sing & Spell the Sight Words DVDs. They don't confuse the sound patterns anymore. Most have made reading improvements of 20+ words.
Truly, we are thankful for this gift.”

Extra! Extra! Read All About Financial Literacy!
Funded May 12, 2015Thank you for providing us with the laser jet printer, ink and notepads.
The journalism club has been a valuable instrument as far as teaching our students the value of financial responsibility and making appropriate decisions that will lead them to success.
Since we had the interviews from the police department, I decided to use the videos to create our next journal entries. Thanks th the resources, the students did a remarkable job putting the information together and creating their newspaper. They learned to work together as well as budgeting their money to buy their supplies and pay for the printing and lamination of the final product. They are excited to finish their second entries; teacher interviews.
We are forever thankful for your gracious donations!”
