  • Pack Me a Snack!

    Funded Nov 27, 2019

The snacks that you so graciously provided were truly enjoyed by everyone in the classroom. The variety of sweet, salty, crunchy and soft appealed to all of the different taste buds of my little kindergarten students.

Yes, we are free meal school and all of the students would get a healthy breakfast but that was not sufficient to fill their little stomachs. Most of the time, they were asking for food an hour later. Once our snacks arrived, the children were so happy because they knew they had something else to enjoy prior to lunch.

Thank you for helping my students. I know for a fact, that your generosity will be remembered forever in their hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aguilar

  • Music to My Ears!

    Funded Dec 20, 2019

Your amazing donation to help fund the headphones has left a lasting effect on my students. Although all the students loved the colors of the headphones, it is not what will forever be engraved in their hearts; it is the fact that they were able to make use of a digital tool to it's fullest.

There were times when they would start listening to the Heidi HFW songs and would sing so loud or hum to it that instead of distracting peers, it ignited their curiosity and they would also look for those songs.

Now those same headphones are home with the students helping them through distance learning as they continue their kindergarten journey with our Zoom classes.

Thank you for this amazing gift.”

  • INK Time

    Funded Mar 9, 2018

Thank you so very much for your generous donation to my classroom. My students and I have been so excited to have access to printing in our own classroom. We are very limited on resources at our school, so being able to do the printing in my room has been very beneficial to both my students and me. Rather than having my students copy down graphic organizers or study questions from my projector, I can now print a copy for my students. These ink cartridges will most benefit my students when we begin our research papers. They will have the opportunity to print their sources/articles from my room. So many of my students do not have access to a computer and/or printer at home. We just can't thank you enough for your kindness and your generosity.”

  • Literature Circle Time

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

The students have read and thoroughly enjoyed the book, Hatchet. They benefited from your thoughtful donation in many ways. As each student stated in their thank-you notes, they learned that self-pity doesn't work.

Our class would not have been able to buy a set of books without your donation. Many students commented that this was the best book they had ever read. They were anxious to read each day and were very involved in the development of the novel by Gary Paulsen. The book had many real life situations for the students to relate to such as the divorce of the main character's parents and how the twelve-year old dealt with the situation.

Thank you again for answering our request.”

  • Printing Time!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

It has been a few months since we received our brand new printer in our classroom! The day that the large box arrived was very exciting for my students. Two of the students even helped me install it!

The printer has been used multiple times every day by the students. The students do not have to feel embarrassed or stress out if they do not have a printer at home anymore because they know they can easily use this one in our classroom.

Thank you so much for your help. The students of Los Angeles schools benefit greatly from your support.”

  • We Need a VEX

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I am very thankful for your generous donation to my classroom. The Vex Robotics Kit that you donated were used on the first day they arrived. The students were very thrilled with the new gadgets, and they were able to put them to immediate use for their projects.

This year's budget cuts to our district and schools have had a huge impact on our ability to purchase new equipment; therefore, without your donation my students would not have been able to work with the Vex Robots. Bridging the technology gap between the privileged and the underprivileged has always been a problem; however, donors like you can help out many underrepresented students in this area.”

  • Courageous Kids

    Funded Feb 10, 2017

Thank you for ensuring that my students were given the proper resources to complete the first part of their family project. They began their writing in January and after months of working on their project, their books were color printed, bounded together and ready to be taken home.

This summer students along with their families will implement part two of their project. They will be taking pictures and annotating details about their individual community involvement on the colorful sticky-notes. Not only will they make a difference in their community, but they will also demonstrate good citizenship as they help others.

Once again, thank you for your generous donation. Students are very excited to do their advocating project.”

  • We Love to Wiggle in Our Chairs

    Funded Aug 12, 2016

My students absolutely love the wiggle stools! We decided, as a class, to put them at our small group table so that each student has a chance every day to use them. My students are so excited when I call their Math or Reading small group to come over so that they can sit in the wiggle stools. Because they want to use the stools, they really focus and listen to what I have to teach them at small group. Small group instruction is essential in my classroom because my students are low performing, so it allows me to get that one on one instruction that is key!

The front office buzzed down to my room saying that we had a package. My students knew that the stools were on their way to our room. I sent a few students to grab the packages and the class waited for their return. When the students returned with the packages, we opened them up right away and I've never heard my class so excited!

Thank you so much for making this a reality!”

  • Exercise Time!

    Funded Sep 16, 2016

On behalf of myself and the student body of Ricardo Lizarraga Elementary School, I would like to thank you for your generous donation that funded the purchase of Fitbits for our physical education and after school wellness programs.

I strongly believe that in order to combat our state's obesity epidemic, students must be invested in their own health and be responsible for making healthy choices for their bodies. These Fitbits will help our students to track and visualize their health habits and activity levels so they can gain the knowledge they need to lead healthy lifestyles as they grow. By introducing the Fitbits during school and our after school wellness program, we are allowing students to become familiar with a tool that they can continue to use outside of school.

Thank you for your wonderful donation.”
