  • Adding to Our Learning

    Funded Aug 8, 2022

I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generous donations. I am able to use the Teacher Pay Teacher gift cards to add so much to our learning. My students are to able to visually see the place value chart that I was able to create using Teachers Pay Teachers. Our classroom place value chart is 5 feet long by 3 feet wide, making it easily seen by all. Students are able to come the chart and manipulate numbers to show how to multiple 3.4 X 1000. Or they are able to see how to line up their decimals when adding decimal numbers.

One of their favorite activities that I was able to buy with the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card was a whole unit on academic vocabulary. My students are learning vocabulary words that they will see on state testing at the end of the year. They are also able to learn about different Greek and Latin roots. The more they learn the more complex words they will be able to understand. Units like this would take a massive amount of time and resources for me to create by myself. Being able to use the Teachers Pay Teacher gift card I was able to quickly and easily find a unit that was already created.

We are truly grateful for people like you who took the time to support our classroom. My students and I are working daily to learn new skills and to become better people. Thank you for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aceves

  • Supplies for Success

    Funded May 4, 2022

I can't begin to thank you enough for your generous support of my students. With your contributions my students were able to start the year out with all the supplies that needed. They all have pencil boxes with their own individual supplies. They love using the whiteboards and markers to show their work with math. Without your donations they would run out of whiteboard markers by October. They also use their whiteboards to work with their partners to share their thinking. Your generous donation has allowed each student to get a set of color pencils. We use these weekly went they are editing their writing. Be able to use different colors has allowed them to visually see their editing which has made such a difference in their work.”

  • Learning is Fun

    Funded May 10, 2022

I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generous donations. I am able to use the Teacher Pay Teacher gift cards to add so much to our learning. My students are to able to practice their addition and subtraction skills creating the Ultimate Fantasy Football team. They have a visible and bright math vocabulary wall that I was able to purchase with your donation of a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. I was also able to supplement our math curriculum with daily check in so that I can quickly see which of my students need more support.

One of their favorite activities that I was able to buy with the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card was a whole unit on the 50 Sates and Capitals. My students are enjoying learning about each state. They are discovering major cities, lakes and mountain ranges for each state. They are also learning about how each state got their nickname.

  • Papers Everywhere!

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Thank you for your generous donations to helping my classroom to become more organized. My students use their binders daily to keep all their assignments organized. They are learning to be responsible for their things and being more self-sufficient. We also use the whiteboards daily to be able to share our math understanding. The use of the whiteboards has allowed me to be able to identify students who need help or to see if students have any misperceptions. Since we use the whiteboards daily the donation of whiteboard markers has come in handy. Your thoughtful donation of materials to use in my classroom has made learning come alive.”

  • Read Any Good Books??

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generous donations. We use these books weekly to learn about different reading strategies and how to apply them. My students look forward to hearing a new story each week. We are able to work on discovering the main idea or the theme and then use the books to provide our evidence. I have seen an increase in my student's engagement with these new books. I have also been able to use these books to discuss the many different character traits.

One of their favorite books is called "The Oldest Student." It is about a grandma, a former slave, who learned how to read. This simple picture book has led to hours of discussion about education and the importance of being in school. Another book they really liked is called "Most People." It is a book about how most people are good at heart and how we can take care of our neighbors to make this world a better place. With this book, we discussed what we could do to be better neighbors to our community. My students were able to come up with a classroom giveback project where they collected can goods to create food baskets for families that needed help during the holidays.

We are truly grateful for people like you who took the time to support our classroom. My students and I are working daily to learn new skills and to become better people. Thank you for your support.”

  • Extra Extra Read All About It!!!

    Funded Aug 19, 2019

Thank you for supporting my classroom by encouraging their love for reading. They look forward to Friday's when we spend time reading and discussing our Time for Kids. They are always so excited to learn about the current event for week. They especially love to learn about animals. We have taken many articles that we have read and extended them into projects. They have created Power Points, poster and many different writing on the topics that they read about.

The writing folders you so generously donated have helped to keep my students writing organized. They can use the different pockets to keep their work in order and they are able to edit their writing. So many times when a student says "I can't find it" I remind them to look in their writing folder and wala it's there!!

I am truly appreciative of all the support. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to read my project and donate to my students.”

  • Third grade class in need of a rug and some PE equipment.

    Funded Dec 26, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donations! You have brought great resources to my students that will help them to have a special place to read every day and provide them with PE equipment. Every day when we go out to PE I am able to provide a much more involved program then I ever could have before. I am able to have multiple students participating in drills with all the new equipment. One of my most favorite parts of the day is after lunch when my students get to spend time reading on the rug. I love to see them sprawled out on the rug with their nose in a book. Thank you very much for being a believer in me and supporter of education!!!”

  • Imagine What My Students Could See With a Technology Cart?

    Funded Aug 23, 2014

I do not have the words to express my gratitude for your generous donations. Each of you have made such a difference in my student's lives. This is just proof of how working together and giving of ourselves for others can make such an impact in people's lives. Because of you, my students are able to better access the lessons that are being projected.

The technology cart has changed my classroom in so many ways. I no longer need to stack dictionaries to put my projector on. My students no longer need to crowd up close to see the lessons that are being projected. Finally I am no longer constantly worrying about the students coming near the project. They are free to come and share their work with their classmates. Because of your generous donations my students learn has been greatly enhanced.”

  • Bringing Music To The Classroom

    Funded Jan 30, 2012

I would like to thank all of the people who donated to my class project. The students and I have benefited greatly from this new technology in the classroom. We use our Ipod touch everyday as part of our lessons.

Because of your generous donations I am able to use the Ipod touch to play music in the classroom while my students are working on their writing. I am also able to use the Boombox to create a listening center for my students. Finally my students are able to use the Ipod touch to practice their math facts and comprehension skills using apps that I was able to download. My students education has definitely been enhanced by your generous donations.”

  • A Fifth Grade Class in Need for a Laptop.

    Funded Jan 13, 2012

First of all I would like to thank you for all your generous donations. It is because of your generosity that my class was able to receive such an awesome laptop. We have used the laptop everyday. My students have been able to create projects, do research on astronomy, and watch Bill Nye videos for science without a laptop freezing every five minutes. I have been able to bring the curriculum to life, by creating PowerPoints to use every week with our new language arts and math programs. My students and I are extremely thankful. ”
