  • Help Enhance Our Curriculum

    Funded Aug 6, 2022

I am so excited to share with you that we have been utilizing our Scholastic membership every single week, sometimes twice a week. It has highly impacted the quality of instruction and materials that they get to take home and read with their family members! The children cheer "yay" when I tell them it's time to work our Scholastic magazines. What more could one ask for! I am forever grateful for the huge upgrade in our curriculum this year! Additionally, there is an online component that we use each time we read a magazine and the children are highly engaged in the games, songs and stories that are included!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

  • Outdoor Classroom

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

The difference that this donation has made on our little garden is immense. The children have used it everyday and ask to go out to experience the garden more now than ever before! When they first saw our new garden all they could say is "oh my goodness"! Next ,we are hoping to finish our garden off with the "cherry on top", a gate to give the children a specific space for their gardening and outdoor learning. Thank you from the bottom our my heart! You have made our outdoor classroom that much more amazing!”

    With gratitude,

  • Find a Seat and a Good Book!

    Funded Nov 7, 2019

Thank you so much for your donations! As you can see, my soon to be readers are absolutely loving our new chairs, side table, and sofa! We needed to find chairs that were safe and comfortable and boy did you help us do that quickly!

The children are using the furniture while reading their books, assembling puzzles, and enjoying some quite time right after snack. I love how the two rocking chair support my students on the spectrum of Autism and their need for sensory input through out their day. As you can see, some of the students feel so comfortable that they their feet just like the adults would.

It always warms my heart know donors like you are out there and willing to support my students getting their needs met! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

  • Gather Around Our Circle! Come Find a Seat!

    Funded Feb 15, 2019

I can't begin to describe that impact this new furniture piece and rug have made on my students and their families. My classroom feels complete! When I first received the items, I set them up right away so that the children could utilize them immediately. I created our new "Circle Time" area and was anxious to see how my students would react. In my classroom, I work with very young children who sometimes have a hard time saying goodbye in the mornings to their caregivers. The new rug and cabinet has shown to make the classroom much more inviting and motivating for the children to come in and say goodby to their caregivers without hesitation. In fact, with the children's reaction when they saw our transformed classroom space were of extreme excitement! Not only were they, themselves excited, but they were excited to show anyone who walked through our classroom door!

Prior to us having these amazing furniture pieces, the classroom lacked a defined space for the children to learn, play and hold our large group activities through out the school day. Now the children have visuals on the rug, helping them know where to sit and how big their personal space is because we need practice for that too.

I want to use this rug and shelving cabinet to help my soon- to- be- kindergartners start to practice the exceptions they will have on them once they start in their new classroom. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your generosity! The impact these will make on my classroom will not only make an immediate impact on my students but will also last up for 10 to 15 years for all my future students as well!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

  • Building Language Dollhouse

    Funded Aug 23, 2014

What an amazing contribution you have made to our class! When my students first set eyes on the dollhouse, they couldn't contain their excitement. They immediately started to explore and investigate the dollhouse, pointing at rooms and sections of the dollhouse, and looking at me inquisitively to learn the words to describe what they were seeing.

We now take out the dollhouse as much as possible. We use the play opportunities with the dollhouse to talk about how they have kitchens at home and they see family members cook in the kitchen. We talked about the bedroom where they use their beds, and dressers where they keep their clothes. We talked about the bathroom and how some bathrooms have showers, some have baths and some have both. All though out their exploring the house, they imitate the small sentences I modeling for them, like "sleep in bed" and "cook in kitchen". I'm able to see if they can connect home with school by talking about situations that are somewhat abstract, for instance "mom cooks".

Though the use of the dollhouse, I'm also able to get an understanding of my students play skills as I assist them with turn taking in play with this motivating toy. This dollhouse is a great tool to assist young children to learn through play. My preschool students and I can't thank our donors enough for the wonderful gift of this beautiful dollhouse.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

My students are very young children with special needs, most of whom have speech delays or autism. They are the most lovable bunch of sweet hearts trying their best to communicate their thoughts and ideas. I strive to provide a social skills based preschool program that is saturated with language opportunities whenever and wherever possible. Through the use of play and modeling appropriate language, encouraging children to use their words, and practicing social skills, the children in my class can learn about themselves and the world around them.
