Every single school day, students look forward to spending time outside with their peers at recess. Free play at recess is an ideal time for students to learn the importance of teamwork, fair play, integrity, and perseverance. The recess equipment from this project will allow my students to participate in a variety of different physical activities and help them achieve their goal of 60 minutes of daily exercise. Due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, our students are unable to mix between cohorts at recess, thus limiting their access to playground equipment. If this project is fully funded, ALL K-5 students at Nuckols Farm Elementary School will have plenty of opportunities to utilize sports equipment at recess.
