Every single human being learns differently and at different paces. In the classroom, especially in high school, this can lead to students bringing a great range of skills and content levels to the classroom. In addition to teaching content to the whole class, the role of teachers is to individualize instruction for each and every single students. With the introduction of tablets to the learning environment, individualization of curriculum is not only easy, it is very engaging to the 21st century learner! "Differentiated Instruction is a teaching philosophy based on the premise that teachers should adapt instruction to student differences. Rather than marching students through the curriculum lockstep, teachers should modify their instruction to meet students' varying readiness levels, learning preferences, and interests. Therefore, the teacher proactively plans a variety of ways to 'get it' and express learning."
