As an educator for more than 17 years, I know that one size does not fit all in a general education classroom. This is even more evident in a special education setting. I teach in a variety of settings on a daily basis. I pride myself on varying my methods and approach to delivering instruction for students in my classes and those on my caseload. Although I have access to different curriculum and computers from time to time, one item that I lack is access to an iPad Pro. The apple pencil feature of the iPad Pro will be beneficial in many ways for my students. The Pencil will make interacting with the notes from class lectures and the various activities from the textbooks easier to access and interact with for my students with disabilities. Students can use it to mark up PDFs with highlights and margin notes, and a copy of their work is always waiting for them in iCloud. For my non-verbal students there are many text to speech apps that will allow these students to have a voice. I am very excited at the prospect of adding an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and a case to my classroom. Thank you!
