Independent Reading Revolution
Funded Oct 18, 2013Thank you again for your generous donation to my classroom. With your donation of over $2000, I was able to purchase over 115 titles (with multiple copies of some novels), nearly a class set of dictionaries and thesauruses, and four sets of small shelves to help in storing those books.
The novels have been flying off my shelves since I've been receiving them this year. Students are trying to finish books in a timely manner because of the wait lists that they see (and hear other students complain about on a daily basis). Having these books (many of which they selected in class one day), allows them to create a strong connection to novels that they might not typically read in a whole-class setting.”
With gratitude,

Shakespeare Set Free in the Classroom
Funded Oct 16, 2012Words cannot express my gratitude for your generosity in helping my students gain a stronger understanding of good literature by providing them with No Fear Shakespeare versions of "Twelfth Night".
While we have not used them yet this school year (it will happen after state testing), the students are already more open to the idea of "Shakespeare" because they have a modern-day translation next to his style of writing. The students are also excited about getting to read a comedy, rather than the typical high-school Shakespeare tragedy.
Again, I cannot thank you enough.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Lambley
