Cozy Jackets, Confident Learners!

The Squishmallows have become a unique tool for building community and creating a calm atmosphere, especially during moments when students need a break or a bit of emotional support.
When the students first saw the Squishmallows, their excitement was palpable! They immediately gravitated toward them, and we used that enthusiasm to encourage discussions about emotional well-being and the importance of supporting one another. Now, the Squishmallows are part of our "positive reward system," where students can earn time with them for demonstrating kindness, teamwork, or perseverance.
Recently, we incorporated the Squishmallows into a creative writing project. Students selected their favorite Squishmallow and wrote imaginative stories featuring them as the main character. This sparked creativity and helped students engage more deeply with their writing, all while fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their work.

Kicking Into Great Health!
Funded Aug 15, 2024I am thrilled to share how your generous contribution has made a significant impact in our classroom. Thanks to your support, our students now have access to new team pennies, kickballs, and a team handball, which have become essential tools in our physical education and team-building activities. For instance, during our recent unit on team sports, the students used the kickballs and handball to participate in an engaging and collaborative game of team kickball. This activity not only encouraged physical fitness but also helped students develop important teamwork and communication skills. They were excited and enthusiastic when they first saw the new equipment, and their immediate engagement with the activities was a testament to how much they value and appreciate the new resources.
