  • iPads for Learning- Part 2

    Funded Nov 1, 2013

Thank you so much for your generosity and willingness to help our first grade classroom!

We have completed several projects using presentations apps already! The first graders did a remarkable job and the results were amazing! The students were engaged and excited to learn during each project! The possibilities that we can use with this tool are endless and I can not wait to find new and exciting ways to integrate them into our standards of learning.

I thank you again for your kind and generous support of our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

Words can not describe how thankful we are for these i Pads. The students and I are so thrilled to have them in our room. They are used daily in our classroom!

We have already created multiple projects that link to our standards of learning. We used the app Puppet Pals to create a play using them on the seasons. The excitement that came from the students that week was resounding and they learned so much! We also researched the Sun using a discovery kids app and made a Haiku Deck presentation using the app on the i Pads. The children then presented their projects to the class to teach their classmates about the sun. These are just two of the many projects that we have done and will do in the classroom.

This technology is an integral piece of keeping the children engaged in the classroom. We all thank you for your kind and generous support!”

Thank you so much for your generosity. My class and I really love having the I pod's in our room. The students are able to use the I pod for so many different learning opportunities. They are able to use it for listening center as that will greatly benefit their fluency. They are able to use it for apps during our reading and math Daily 5 times. The ideas for using these I pod's in the classroom are endless.

The students you will help are not only this year's students but many more class's to come!”

  • TA DA!!!

    Funded Aug 3, 2012

Thank you so much for your support. The first graders are really enjoying being able to use the Ipad with the smart board. It keeps their energetic minds focused on the task at hand as well as making learning fun!

I am able to walk around the room with the I pad and display student work, lessons, education video's and other academic resources on the smart board instead of being fixed to one spot in front of them. It is such a fabulous resource and you made it happen! You are not only supporting the students of this year but many years to come.

Thank you again for your support!”

    With gratitude,

  • iPad For The Classroom!

    Funded Dec 5, 2011

Words can not tell you how much we appreciate your generosity. Not only are you helping this year's first grade class, you are supporting many more classes in the future.

The I Pad is beyond helpful. It has been essential to some of the students in the classroom. I have some students who were not writing at all before this devise and now have written multiple stories with the help if the I pad. Students are recording themselves reading and watching it to improve their fluency. They are using educational apps during our readers and math workshops. This devise has also been a VERY effective behavior management tool. The apps that are available are remarkable! There is one that uses puppets and the children have to decide on a setting, characters, props, and they get to voice the whole performance on the I pad. Then I am able to send the video of their story to their parents.

As I said before, words can not even begin to tell you how appreciative I am for this devise. It is beyond helpful in the classroom.

    Thank you so much!

Mrs. Ridgley and 2011-2012 First Grade”

  • Books, Books, Books!

    Funded Apr 1, 2011

Thank you so much for your donations. It means a great deal to my class and I. This year we wrote a grant for some I-touch's for the classroom for our listening to reading station. We only had a few books and C.D.'s to put on these I-touches so the books got boring very quickly. Now, the students love the listening station.

Listening center helps student a great deal in their reading instruction. It helps with fluency, fosters independence, builds vocabulary, and provides a variety of different genres and a higher level text.

Thank you again for your much needed help. These books and C.D.'s will be helping students for years to come!”

  • iPod Touch In the Classroom

    Funded Nov 2, 2010

Thank you so much for your donations. They have made such an impact in the classroom. The students are able to use I-Pod's during their listen to reading station during our reading workshop. They are also available for use during our math workshop for daily practice.

The students are loving these so much that we had to make a plan for who gets to use them at a certain time. They are so excited about learning with these I-touch devises.

Again, Thank you so much for your donations. The students and I appreciate them more than we can express.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ridgley

  • Technology in the Classroom 2010

    Funded Oct 14, 2010

I can not tell you in words how much I appreciate the funds you gave to my classroom. The difference it has made is tremendous. The students are beyond excited about listen to read during our readers workshop. They also are unbelievably engaged in our math workshop using these I-touch devices.

As a teacher I am able to implement these devices in math workshop, readers workshop, and in individual practice. I have even used one as an intervention in the classroom!

There are endless education resources to add to these I-touch devices. These are and will keep being a fantastic education tool to use in the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ridgley

I work at a wonderful school. Everyone is always willing to help one another out. I teach first grade, and it is one of the most amazing experiences to see the students from August to May. They come to first grade completely dependent on their parents and their teachers, and they leave first grade independent. They are amazing workers and their passion for learning is remarkable!
