My students attend a low-income Title 1 elementary school in Texas. A great portion of my students are considered "at risk" and do come from a low socioeconomic community. Our school is great about making all students feel at home and welcomed every day but we have come into some challenges attaining appropriate resources for all types of dual language learners. The goal for our students is to be completely bi-literate in both Spanish and English by the time they exit 5th grade and by providing any assistance for our classroom they will have a greater opportunity of achieving it!
