I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am for you and your generous support of my classroom. The funding of this project will now allow us to complete the sensory corner in my classroom. My students will be so thrilled to use the calm and safe areas for their emotional well-being. I can’t wait to show you the end product!
Solving puzzles and working together to problem solve are some very important life skills that we try to teach our students. Providing them with a large amount of puzzles has allowed us to offer them many options and a platform to build upon without having to take it apart every time. My students have really enjoyed trying to find the correct pieces to solve the puzzle. With the support of staff in the classroom, we have been able to put together 4 puzzles since we got them. Thank you for providing us with material that is not only fun at the time, but also helps build important life skills that each student needs to have.”
I never knew how much my students would love and attempt to read on their own until your support provided my classroom with such a wonderful library. The books that we purchased with your donations provided me with the opportunity to build a reading area for the students. I've seen them more interested in reading as independently as possible. Providing them with new books was the best way to encourage my students to try and read on their own. It also allows them to pick something new and to ask us to help read with them.

In my classroom, we are not able to learn in the same ways that our general education peers may be able to. Because of our unique ways of learning, standard curriculum material is not always best suited for our class. Your support in helping us receive two Teacher Pay Teacher gift card provide me with the opportunity to find more specific and applicable material for each student in the class. The print materials that I was able to secure has allowed for each student to grow and make progress towards their individual education goals.

Starting off the school year with extra supplies is always a great feeling as a teacher. Knowing that my students will have access to much needed supplies and materials really warms my heart. Thank you so much for your support and donations to our classroom. It didn't take long for us to get our deliveries. As soon as we received our products, we worked on building our sensory corner. The carpet has been a nice addition as it has provided a soft area for students to lay down, should they desire. They've also taken to the new bean bag chairs as well. Not to mention that they fell in love with our breathing owl (which I need to get more now). Overall, your support and generosity has helped us begin our calming corner project. We've started another project to finish the project and are hoping to fund that very soon.

Now, students aren't waiting around for their turn and they are able to ride with their friends. This has been a great addition to our tools here. These scooters allow for our students to meet their sensory needs and improve their physical fitness. Again, these scooters are a HIT! This was one of the best projects I've done. We completed another project that got us some red scooters that worked for our smaller and younger students. These blue scooters have given us something for our older kids to ride. The students in this school have been so excited to use these scooters. In fact, anytime we are in the gym, they are rolling around the entire area. Each student now has an opportunity to not only meet their sensory needs, but also ride around and work on their physical fitness. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

Special education students require focus on additional skills outside of academics, including skills learned through therapies. By learning to work with their hands and tools, special education students can build upon their motor skills while learning the enjoyment of building an object and learning skills that may help them with job securement in their future outside of school. This project will teach students to first make a birdhouse and how to customize it their own unique way. After the students have successfully completed their birdhouse project, other project ideas will be offered to allow each student the ability to pick a new project to make throughout the school year.
