It is an educator's job to provide a learning space where students can shine and be motivated to share and learn. About a quarter of my students need flexible seating in order to focus on their work/reading. As a result, a comfortable carpet would allow me to differentiate for these students and allow them to find their learning space. In the 5th grade, teachers must place an emphasis on non-fiction reading. Students need to be exposed to the structure and composition of non-fiction texts. Our school lacks these type of texts. For this reason, real-world non-fiction such as TIMES(magazine) can be helpful.
