  Reading in the classroom lately looks completely different. Now, more than ever, we really need to inspire students and to get students to want to read and write. One of the best ways I have found to do that is to give them choice in what they are reading. Another is to supply them with choices of books through which they can see themselves reflected.

  These books you have supplied us with allow the students to see themselves in the texts. This is so crucial in giving the students the ability to have confidence in themselves and develop that confidence over time. We are making strong, confident individuals, each of whom is truly thankful for this wondrous opportunity.”

• Smells Like Teen Spirit? Deodorant, Please! (And Hygiene Products)

  You are giving us life! These backpacks filled with books, deodorant, body wash, and more are absolutely making us live! How else can a person really fill the needs of students, then to supply them what they need to be happy, and therefore successful, in school and in life?

  These supplies give the confidence that is needed to get through each day. They are often not on people's minds, or taken for granted, but you really came through with this. We will be eternally thankful and appreciative to you!”

  We are beyond excited! I keep hearing that it has been supremely difficult to make friends over the course of the last year, and with the lack of social interaction, it is so true.

  Being able to build friendships through literature, and bonding over stories, is a tried and true way of developing lifelong friends. These books are giving us the ability to foster those relationships and help them grow into ones that will last a lifetime.

  Our students are beyond excited to be able to read and to discuss these books on a daily basis. In times like these, it is very difficult for us to connect with each other. Having something in common, even and especially our reading materials, brings us closer and closer. To see students interacting based on literature and sharing their experiences with each other is utterly amazing. • A Diverse Library, Please!

  A diverse library is one of the most essential and crucial things that a student, or any person for that matter, can have access to. Being able to see yourself reflected in the literature that you are reading is essential to a person's development. Books like these are incredibly hard to find in classrooms these days. With budget cuts and restrictions, these books are often overlooked. The fact that you have enabled us to have such a beautiful, diverse library to use all year long is heartwarming and amazing and we simply cannot thank you enough.”

• Young Adult Books for Young Adults, Please!

  These books are amazing! Talk about having the ability to have book clubs... and students actually excited about reading. It's one thing to encourage reading, but it is quite another thing when students are actually the ones wanting and requesting to discuss books like One of Us is Lying.

  It's phenomenal to have books that speak to the unique parts of everyone. Thank you for giving everyone, no matter what interests them, the ability to be happy and to grow as young adults. Ultimately, I want every student to be able to be excited by what they read and to be able to see themselves reflected in what they read. For that, I humbly thank you.”

  Thank you so much for bringing a sense of normalcy back into our lives. Sometimes one can overlook how an item like a backpack is a complete game changer in the life of a student. Not only did you supply us with backpacks, but they are each unique, like us, and allow us a sense of individual freedom in a time when our faces are largely hidden behind masks.

• Concrete Rose Books to Inspire High Schoolers

  We went on a class trip a few years ago to see The Hate You Give together. It was life changing. Now, to be able to have the students read Concrete Rose together, is frosting on the cupcake. We are so happy and overjoyed by your kindness in providing these books for us to enjoy together.

  The year is obviously a challenge for everyone. Being in a class where we are given the opportunity to read, and read various texts, texts which speak to us, is something that makes everything seem okay right now.
