Better Books Build Big Brains
Funded Mar 29, 2008I am so excited! The books that were purchased for my class were hand-picked by my students as a gift for my classes next year. Thanks to kind, generous souls such as yourself, my students have developed a passion for reading this year. The bigger accomplishment however, is that they have embraced the spirit of giving and wanted to take part in a gift for next year's students. I couldn't be more proud of them. And I could not be more grateful to you”

Reading About Greatness to Become Great
Funded Mar 1, 2008I am so excited to have these resources coming into my classroom! The benefits that these books will provide go well beyond a book report or a reading project. My students are learning about the power of generosity and the impact that kindness can have on the world. So, the gifts that you have given to my students go far beyond paper and ink. You have given hope and love to my kids. I am forever grateful”

Great Books Make Great Readers!
Funded Nov 30, 2007I am so amazed by the generosity of the donors form DonorsChoose.org! It is so heartening to know that so many people recognize that education is the front line in the battle to make our world a better place. This is the third project I have had funded and I am so excited to see how this set of books will add to the momentum we have in our class!
Already, I have had my spelling scores increase due to donated Scrabble games and our team is falling in love with reading thanks to donated books. Your kind donation will help even more of our students unlock the door to a life as a successful learner: Reading!
Thank you very much, for the books and for the care that you've shown our students!
Sincerely,
Warren ”

Great Books Make Great Students
Funded Nov 19, 2007I could not be more excited about this wonderful gift that our classroom will be receiving! I scan the list of books that are on their way and I feel a tingle of anticipation because I know that hundreds of exciting doors are about to be opened to my students. They are the titles that have fostered my life-long love of learning and I know the same is about to happen for my students.
I am floored by the generosity you have shown. It is so heartening to know that people are willing to help us as we work to do the most rewarding job in the world, teaching. I believe strongly in the power of education and the lesson of kindness you have taught is the most powerful lesson to be learned.
Thank you so very much”

Srabulous Classroom
Funded Oct 31, 2007Wow! It is not uncommon for people to hear that our schools are failing and that no one cares about education anymore, but I have constantly been re-affirmed since joining this amazing profession.
It is by coming in contact with generous people such as yourself and by getting the opportunity to work with talented and passionate students every day that I have never been more optimistic.
These experiences have left me humbled and thankful. To you, I am especially grateful. "The kindness of strangers" is a cliche until you encounter it, then it becomes the reason you look at the world with a smile.
Thank you, sincerely,
Warren ”
