Our autistic students are in need of a good picture system in order to gain a strong command of the language system. We will build pictures and print them out for communication books and daily schedules. Each student will gain an understanding of language and schedules, via the pictures created just for their individual schedules. Additionally, they will have a book to carry with them to communicate effectively throughout the day. Our students cannot communicate verbally and they have not yet learned the ASL language system. A great deal of frustration comes with not being able to communicate effectively. Our students are very excited when they gain command of some form of communication!
