  • After School Dungeons and Dragons

    Thank you for helping us reach our goals for our after-school Dungeons and Dragons club. We were able to buy all the books, dice, maps, and other things that the kids needed to be able to explore the world of D&D. We've had a number of students come and go throughout the year, but we have three consistent groups role-playing.

    It's been awesome to see and hear these kids play their characters. There has been some drama between some of the players and some of the DMs, but that has made it all the more fun. They've been able to work through their story problems and grow.

I host an afterschool Dungeons & Dragons club in my classroom. We started it last year and got more than 40 kids per day to show up. One of the biggest problems we have was limited resources. I only have a couple of the player guides and only one dungeon master's guide. I want this group to grow so that kids have: a safe place to spend time after school, the opportunity to develop creatively outside of the classroom, a social group of like-minded people with which to develop social skills, the ability to explore the landscape of creativity and an opportunity to go on an adventure. Additionally, some of the books I have on my list are in Spanish as well. I want my English language learners to have the same opportunity in the above group as my native speakers.
