  • The Missing Piece to 3D Printing

    Funded Mar 31, 2021

Thank you so much for helping to bring this project to life. We were able to attach this to our 3D printer to make it work again. My student love creating 3D models using TynkerCAD and then being able to bring the project to life. We even created 3D Molecules for our Chemistry teachers and students were able to surprise their teacher with a 3D model, which their science teachers enjoyed and were able to use in their lessons.

Creativity is an important aspect of education and giving student an outlet to create something special, especially a tangible item, makes learning fun.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bernstein

This classroom project was brought to life by IF/THEN, an initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies and 2 other donors.
  • A Is for Apple (TV)

    Funded Oct 10, 2020

Thank you for supporting my student and I to bring this project to life. We have loved having the Apple TV in our classroom to be able to share videos, and graphics easier and safely without using the computer. We have been able to utilize Apple Screen Sharing feature and display educational content. During project based learning, we play relaxing music in the background to help keep my students focused and relaxed during this difficult time.

The Apple TV and Apple iPad Pro have worked perfectly together and enabled my students to learn with the latest technology in an easier, more connected way.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bernstein

  • Distant Learning Equipment Needed

    Funded Oct 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity and supporting my students and me. This iPad Pro has made a world of a difference with distance learning and then sum. We have been able to use the iPad Pro as a white board during our zoom calls to annotate, and explain topics into manageable chunks. The iPad has allowed for us to have multiple breakout rooms and for me as the teacher to be in 2 breakout rooms at a time.

When we have a dual modality classes, both in person and online, I have been able to share the iPad screen to the promethium board while walking around the classroom. Delivering the lesson to ensure that students are engaged both in person and online. This method of teaching has allowed for more interaction and brining the latest technology inside the classroom.”

  • I See Myself in My Class

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for bringing our classroom project to life. During the 2019-2020 school year, I decided that instead of just having just the pictures of my graduates on the wall, students who were in my class that year should be featured on a wall dedicated to them. With help from my student, we created an entire wall in our classroom called "The Faces of AoIT" (Academy of Information Technology) which is the program my students are in. My students love the Polaroid camera and taking their pictures to add on the wall. This wall has created a pride of coming to class and created a stronger classroom community.

On behalf of my students and myself, we thank you so much for your time, support, and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bernstein

  • Rewarding Students for Doing the Right Thing!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity, it couldn't have come at a better time. With COVID-19 students are missing school, seeing their friends, and in-person learning. We were able to reward our students with the Apple AirPods and the Polaroid Camera that came with accessories. Students we so excited to receive the items, during a difficult time. Students were thankful to be recognized for their hard work and dedication towards their education. Students have already spread the word to future students that hard work does payoff.”

  • Learning Presenting Skills

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Thank you for your generous donation. My students have been enjoying the extra film for the polaroid camera and we have decorated our classroom wall with pictures of students who are in the class. The Speaker and microphone have come in handy for when we have academy events, for guest speaks to project their voice.

The Wireless Presenter Remote has been key for presentations and allows for students to learn presentation skills with a remote to advance their slides while not being focused on the computer. It has also been a great teaching tool as it has allowed me to walk throughout the classroom while presenting content to my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bernstein

  • Chevron Fuel Your School: One Band, One Sound for Education

    Funded Oct 16, 2019

Thank you so much for your donation to my students and our classroom. My students have been loving the Polaroid Camera. Instead of just having only the pictures of students who graduated already, my students have been able to take their photos and display them on the classroom wall.

The laptop has been a great addition especially for my larger classes. Students have been able to use the laptop when there isn't a computer available or they need to work in a group project.

The toner cartridge has been great for our classroom student printer, especially for a lot of my students who do not have printers at home. Students have been able to print their work for other classes, like essays for their English class.

On behalf of my students and myself Thank You so much for your donation and supporting our classroom.”

  • STEM Coding Can Be Fun

    Funded Jun 21, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity of donating to our classroom project. The classroom set of headphones have been a great addition to the classroom that has allowed for students to follow along with instructional videos. Students in our night school program have also been using the headphones in their studies as well.

The Sphero Robots and tablets have been a great addition. The smiles on my students faces when they started playing with the Spheros made the learning coding enjoyable. Students have been able to see their coding happen in front of them and are having fun with the Spheros.

The RAM for the computers took our slowest computers in the classroom and have allowed for students to complete assignments and run software that we struggled with before.

Thank you for your generosity and helping me bring this project to my students.”

  • Allowing Students to Print

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

Thank you for your support to our project. This project has allowed my students the ability to print not just work for their classes but has allowed my students to get jobs. Students have been able to work on their resumes in class and print them for their interviews.

My students are currently in the process of summer internship paperwork and they are excited to gain work experience over the summer break. Students will be using the printer to print their resumes, Internship paperwork, and any necessary documentation they need.

The Gift Cards from Google and Googles Digital Applied Skills have allowed my students to gain new knowledge at a pace that works for each students and in their native language. Thank you again for the support towards education.

The Birthday pencils are a nice surprise for my students and they have been appreciating the small token on their birthdays.

Thank you again to DonorsChoose, Google, Googles Digital Applied Skills, Verizon for matching donations, and Anyone who has supported me and my students.”
