iPad Mini as a Classroom Hub
Funded Dec 29, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity to support my classroom and provide my students with a 21st century learning experience. The iPad mini has come in great use by allowing us to listen to mindful calming music while students work on their assignments which has allowed for a classroom atmosphere that promotes a calming environment. The iPad has also been used to document students project based assignments, used during Fire Drills to take attendance, and used in the classroom for students to work when they need an electronic device.
The vacuum cleaner and Swiffer duster has supported us in keeping our classroom clean and dust free. With COVID-19 and students returning back to the classroom this year it has been essential to ensure students feel comfortable in a clean and calming environment.”

Funded Nov 29, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity to support our classroom project. With this project we were able to get additional resources for our Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science A students through Teacher Pay Teachers and use these resources within our class so students had additional hands on academic resources to use.
Learning Computer Science can bring up complex topics and having hands on resources that allow students to break down these complex topics allows for a better understanding of the content.”

Funded Jan 10, 2022Thank you for your generosity in brining our classroom project to life. The additional power-cords have been extremely useful to keep students laptops charged throughout the day and ensure all students have a place in our classroom to charge their electronics. The Lysol disinfectant wipes have been used to ensure that our classroom is kept clean. The deck of cards have allowed for students to take Computer Science concepts like linear and binary searches and simulate these concepts with the decks of cards, which has brought complex topics into a real world simulator.
Thank you again for your generosity and supporting our classroom.”

Funded Oct 11, 2021Thank you so much for supporting our classroom project and bringing it to life. Students have been very excited to use a larger tablet to learn coding with our Spheros. Computer Science is a skill that is essential for students to learn in today's world, and coding is a huge part of it. Learning to code is more than just programming, it allows students to enhance their critical thinking, abstract thinking and express their creativity.
Due to the items we wanted becoming cheaper, we were able to get our 4 tablets and cases, as well as additional items for our classroom Cricut machine, and Amazon donated an additional 2 tablets to our classroom as well.
Thank you again for your support and for bringing our classroom project to life.”

Funded Oct 4, 2021Thank you so much for your support in bringing our classroom project to life. Students and I have been enjoying the opportunity to use our classroom Cricut, vinyl, and heat press to make customized items such as shirts, and pens with students' names, and have decorated students' water bottles and their Math calculators with custom designs.
The button maker has allowed students to express their creative side with custom buttons to wear. Students also decided to make buttons to promote our Computer Science classes during our school's curriculum fair.
The power cords have come in handy to ensure that students' laptops are always charged and ready to learn.
As we transitioned back to in-person learning since COVID-19. These items continue to support students learning in a fun and creative way.”

Funded Sep 13, 2021Thank you for your generosity to support our classroom and bring our project to life. The transition for students from virtual to physical learning has been challenging for some, and having the printer has supported us in printing resources for more hands on material, as well as students have used the printer to print assignments for their other courses.
The additional resources of the keyboard, and webcam for our classroom promethium has been instrumental in supporting students continue their learning while being quarantined. Students have been able to stay connected and engage with their classmates and course material while at home.”

Funded Sep 8, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity and helping to support our classroom by bring this project to life. Students had so much fun building the robotic arm, and worked so well collaboratively between classes to put the robotic arm together. Students had a lot of fun as well using the arm once they had built it. The button making machine has come in great use by promoting Computer Science Week, our Robotics club, and students getting creative and making their own buttons. Lastly the filament that we received has gone to great use with our 3D printer and students have had so much fun designing 3D objects and then getting to print them.”

Funded Mar 16, 2021Thank you so much for brining our classroom project to life. Thank you as well to the IF/THEN foundation for matching donations, as well as Ms. Boyd's and her project "3d Printer Needed for Community Service Project" that gave us the idea.
With the resources from the IF/THEN collection "Demystifying 3D Printing" and "Mission Unstoppable: If/Then 3D Statue Exhibit (4:32)". These were both great resource to use and promote what a 3D Printer can do with creativity and hard work.
In our classroom we have been able to print amazing work and have students ideas come to a tangible product. Most recently we have turned a digital image into a 3D Printed Lithophane.
Thank you again for your support.”

Funded Apr 12, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in bringing our classroom project to life. This past school year was difficult, as we got closer to the end of the school year and students couldn't wait for summer vacation, students were so excited to use the drone and put together our academy video. Seeing student's faces light up and being excited to learn something new at the end of the year, was the excitement we all needed. During the testing season, it was great to take a break from in-person/ online, hybrid, learning, and to go outside and learn how to safely use a drone.
At first, we went through some YouTube videos to go over how to fly the drone and reviewed the FAA rules and requirements for safely flying. After we had gained the knowledge and all felt comfortable we took turns flying the drone outside. We learned from one another what to do, and saw concepts like Geometry in a real-world setting. Students were so responsibly and put safety first at all times.
Thank you again for your generosity and for bringing our classroom project to life.”

Ready, Set, Sphero
Funded Dec 31, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity. This school year was difficult with the pandemic for all stakeholder involved. Thank you for funding our project, It was truly appreciated by my students and I. These Spheros have come in great handy and allowed for even more students to be able to participate in the fun and learning of coding. We originally were not able to purchase the Spheros we picked as they were sold out, but the students were so excited to hear that we got the newer model, Sphero Bolt, with the LED screen. This added an extra layer of fun, complexity, and learning coding.
Thank you so much for your generosity, support for education, and bringing our project to life.”
