  • Creative Learning in a MakerSpace

    Funded Jun 26, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity and support towards our DonorsChoose project and our classroom. These items arrived in time to start the 2023-2024 school year. The walkie talkies have been used in our Multimedia Foundations 3 class. when students are working on projects like video production around the school, they are able to stay in constant communication. The button machine has been a student favorite item as it has allowed for students to express themselves and decorate their backpacks with custom buttons. The rubber ducks in AP Computer Science Principles and A was another favorite item for students. They enjoyed being able to pick out their duck and we even created a Duck Adoption Certificate. These ducks are helping students with debugging their coding and supporting to create critical thinking and problem solving skills.

All of the Adapters have been put to great use. Students have started creating video production and graphic design with their work. We have been able to upload it to the computer in a quicker and more efficient way.

    Thank You.”

  • I See Myself

    Funded May 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity and support towards our DonorsChoose, helping to fund our project, and supporting our classroom. The Polaroid film has come in great use as we ended off last school year, our seniors who were graduating loved taking pictures with their classmates and capturing those memories. Students were able to print those memories to keep as polaroids for a memory to last forever.

As we start the new school year we have used the film to capture the new group of students who are shaping our classroom. Each student has had the opportunity to take a picture and will have their picture decorate our classroom walls. This has become a tradition that we do every year and students love being represented in the classroom, decorating their polaroid, and showing their friends when its displayed.”

  • Celebrating the Class of 2023

    Funded May 19, 2023

Thank you so much for bringing our project to life. My senior, Class of 2023, students were so excited and surprised to receive the graduation rubber duck and the class of 2023 keychains. It was a surprise and delight moment and watching my students smile as they opened the box and saw the rubber duck was great. I personally signed every rubber duck before students received them as a way for students to remember their time in our Computer Science class together.

The other items were used to create a Photo Booth and seniors have been stopping by to take picture. We have also been using our classroom polaroid printer to print the special moment.

The class of 2023 is a special group of students, they are the group that started high school and in March 2020 Covid hit, Sophomore year was virtual and finally Junior year was an adjustment year, and their senior year was amazing. The Class of 2023's bond is like no other and I am glad we were able to recognize them.”

  • Lights, Camera, Action!

    Funded Dec 15, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and support towards our classroom project. The Canon Camera has been used by students for a variety of events. We were able to use the camera to take pictures for our school yearbook, club photos, and even print these pictures 24" by 36" to display in our schools hallways. We have also hosted events at the school in which students have been able to use the camera to document the events and share the pictures with the our school community.

Now that students in our AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A class have finished their AP exam, we will be using the camera to make a commercial about our class and to showcase to other students what AP Computer Science is all about. It has been amazing to see my students learn photography and the quality of the images they are capturing.

Thank you again for your support and generosity towards our classroom and DonorsChoose project.”

  • Creating a Tech Station

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

Thank you so much for your support and helping to bring our project to life. We received the iMac on the Friday of Computer Science Education Week, we had lots of activities happening this week and students in our AP Computer Science classes went to teach coding to their peers in other courses. This was a great surprise to end off a fun and busy Computer Science Education Week. My students were so excited to see the delivery on Friday that one of our AP Computer Science A students stayed to setup the iMac so that it would be ready for all students to use on Monday morning.

The iMac has come in hand and students in all class periods have been using it. When students forget their laptops they know they are able to continue working and learning with the iMac. Students have also started to use the iMac to collaborate more with the larger screen and support one another with debugging their code. We set up our classroom printer to the iMac so students are able to print their work and connected the Cricut machine so students can cut out their vinyl and heat press it to shirts.

With this iMac the possibilities are endless and students have loved being able to use it to learn, express their creativity and have access to the latest technology.

Thank you for supporting our classroom and helping to bring our DonorsChoose project to life.”

  • Hello Learning, Goodbye Germs

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and support towards our classroom and our DonorsChoose Projects. The Staedtler color pens have been useful in our AP Computer Science A class, students have been taking notes and color coding their learning with coding, Java. Students are also able to use these color pens in their other classes as well. In all of our AP Computer Science Principles and A classes, each student adopted a rubber duck that they have been able to use when debugging their coding. Students love learning about Computer Science, and debugging skills while talking out their code to their duck.

The Lysol Wipes, Spray and Tissues have been beneficial to keeping our classroom clean and germ free. All these items are on our student station when you walk into our classroom. The Post-it Super Sticky Easel Pads are used for collaboration and gallery walks with the topics that we cover in class. Students have enjoyed using the Polaroid film, we were able to cover one of our classroom boards with pictures of all our classmates, take pictures and print them at homecoming and during spirit week.

Thank you again for your generosity and support towards our classroom.”

  • I See Myself in Class

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and support with our classroom and DonorsChoose project, I See Myself in Class. The Polaroid printer that we had originally requested was out of stock and we were able to upgrade to the newer model. Students have been enjoying the polaroid printer and film and have been able to add their pictures in our classroom and decorate a whiteboard with their polaroids. We also took the printer to Homecoming and students enjoyed printing their photos at the dance as well as taking photos during spirit week.

The batteries have come in handy, as a technology classroom we can always use batteries for remotes, and classroom technology. The HDMI cables were shared with all teachers to be able to connect to their Promethium boards so students can share their work and display with ease.”

  • Hands-on Learning

    Funded Jan 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity in brining our classroom project to life. My students and I were so excited to receive and use the items. From the Happy Birthday pencils and stickers putting a smile on the face of students during their birthday, to the Computer Science Books that came in great use in breaking down topics, and allowing for students to branch out and learn more Computer Science Topics. These Books were especially helpful when it came to our AP Computer Science Principles class as students would grab a book and validate their knowledge on key concepts.

With the extension cords we were able to keep our students laptops charged throughout the day. The Fujifilm Instax Mini Instant Film kept our classroom project going of having all students in our class represented with a a photo wall. The Cricut supplies allowed for us to continue making shirts and cutting vinyl with our classroom Cricut machine and the button making supplies brought real world work based learning to the classroom.

On behalf of my students and I, we thank you for your generosity in brining this project to life and the positive impact you have on education.”

  • Assessments Made Fun

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting my students and I. Students were so exited to get ready and prepare for their AP Exams with the Educational Insights Wireless Eggsperts and extra buzzers. The Eggsperts have created a fun and engaging learning environment for students by allowing gamification of learning, using game elements to teach. As a teacher it has been wonderful to see the excitement and smiles on students faces when it comes to preparing for a high stakes test, and these Eggsperts have made for a fun way to learn and assess students understanding on topics that we have covered and needed to review.

The Meme reward stickers were used in an AP goodie bag for students before their test. Each student received a positive reward sticker that had some encouraging words to help reduce students stress.”
