My students are the product of a city environment, as the school itself serves the downtown area. As a public school, we have a strong community and good family support, within our large district. Despite this support, we also contend with being a Title 1 school, and rising API scores. We are currently moving to Common Core standards with the hopes of improving students' literacy. Our students are resilient in the face of a society so focused on technology, but do not have the support of that technology in our schools. I urge you and others like you to support our students.
