The students of my Film Class are constantly working on large ambitious projects from short films to recording full-length performances put on them by the school. They have been using cell phones and digital cameras in class to accomplish these goals but often run into technical limitations imposed by these methods that hinder the final product. My goals are to provide the students with one professional grade camera so that they can graduate with an understanding of how to operate actual film equipment. The Canon xc10 will allow the students to record 4k video without the limitations imposed by cellphones and consumer-grade digital cameras.
