Bring the Real World to the Classroom

Thank you once again for these wonderful gifts that you have provided for my students. When I first told them the news that the I Pad Mini and printer were on there way they became extremely excited. When I walked in to class with the box in my hand, the students began to clap and scream with great joy. I did not even have to tell them what was inside the box, they automatically new. I received comments like "This is awesome!"... "I can't wait to use it!"

We currently went on a field trip to the Biscayne Nature Center, and the students were able to take pictures on the trip. They brought these pictures back and printed them on the photo printer and made an album using construction paper. Now the students are going to record their voices as they present the pictures in the album sort of like a live caption, and present it to other classes in the school.

This project is allowing the students to express themselves and work collaboratively with their classmates. It has allowed the introduction of technology and the real world to come together through virtual presentations.
