In the advanced manufacturing course at West Side, student study all aspects of manufacturing. In the first year class, students complete online course covering an overall of today's manufacturing industry. The second year class has students completing an online course in one of five technical occupations, Safety, Quality, Drafting and CAD, CNC lathe and CNC machining technicians. In addition, students have hands - on, minds -on projects throughout the course where they are givien real world problems that must be solved by creating products. On most of the projects, the students use the lone 3D printer available to create they final product. The addtion of another printer would greatly increase the amount of time and qualty the students could put into their work.
