  • Secure Learning for All: Preserving Materials

    Funded May 12, 2024

We are immensely grateful for your generous support in providing our students with the resources they need to excel and explore their full potential. Your contribution has made a significant impact on our school and the lives of our students. Here are some insights into how your support has benefited our students and the next steps for their learning journey:

    Utilization of New Resources

The new resources, including durable storage containers, an electronics storage cart, and protective sleeves, have greatly enhanced our ability to safeguard and preserve important educational materials. These resources are being used in a specific classroom project aimed at nurturing our students' creativity and technical skills.

    Specific Classroom Project

One of the most impactful moments in our classroom was when we introduced the Wacom tablets to our students. Witnessing their excitement and enthusiasm as they explored digital art and design was truly inspiring. The tablets, securely stored in the electronics carts you helped provide, have kept the Wacom tablet secure and safe so students can open up a world of creative possibilities.

    Student Reaction to the Materials

Our students' realization that their high-quality resources are being safely preserved for their use was a moment of pride. Your support has not only provided them with essential tools but also conveyed a message of keeping things of value safe and secure.

Once again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support and commitment to safeguarding the future of education for our exceptional students.”

  • Ramen Radiance: Keeping Warm, Nourishing Minds

    Funded Mar 12, 2024

I am ecstatic to share the incredible impact your support has had on our "Ramen Radiance: Keeping Warm, Nourishing Minds" project. Your generosity has profoundly influenced our students' well-being and learning experiences, and we are eager to provide you with a glimpse into the positive changes your contributions have initiated.

Fostering Relationships through the New Resources:

The initial unveiling of the new ramen resources sparked an atmosphere of camaraderie and connection among our students as they gathered to explore the diverse ramen options, the shared experience of discovering warmth and comfort in a simple cup of noodles catalyzed bonding and mutual understanding. This heartwarming moment reinforced the idea of physical and emotional nourishment and fostered a sense of community within our classroom. The students' shared delight in the new resources laid a foundation for open dialogue and empathy, setting the stage for a supportive and inclusive learning environment where relationships are nurtured alongside academic growth.

Next Steps: Fostering a Community of Learning

Looking ahead, our students are eagerly preparing to transform their newfound understanding of warmth and comfort into a community-building project. Through developing a school food bank, aimed at extending the spirit of comfort and support beyond our classroom. This project will involve reaching out to the wider school community, including staff, fellow students, and families. By organizing communal events and activities centered around the themes of warmth, nourishment, and inclusivity, our students will be actively nurturing a culture of empathy and togetherness. This endeavor will reinforce the connection between physical and emotional well-being and lay the groundwork for a closely-knit and supportive community where everyone feels valued and understood.

Your continued support has been instrumental in empowering our students to embrace learning holistically and enrichingly. We are profoundly grateful for your dedication to our students' well-being and are excited to continue this journey of warmth and nourishment together.”

  • Snacks for Success: Boosting Students Engagement and Focus

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Your generous support for our "Snacking for Success" initiative has profoundly impacted our students, touching upon their sense of warmth, care, and hunger in a meaningful way.

The arrival of the resources sparked a heartwarming moment in our classroom. As the students laid eyes on the assortment of nutritious snacks, their reactions were filled with delight and anticipation. Excitement filled the room as they explored the various options. Their expressions, brimming with gratitude, reflected a sense of warmth and appreciation for the provision of these nourishing snacks.

Our students have experienced a newfound sense of care and fulfillment in utilizing these resources. They enjoy these snacks during breaks and take them home, ensuring they have access to nutritious options beyond school hours. These snacks have become a symbol of care and warmth, providing a reliable source of sustenance that addresses hunger and fosters a sense of security.

The next step for our students is not to just give them the snack but to understand that this DonorsChoose project was to teach them about community. The object is not just for them to get snacks but to show how communities work together to meet the needs of others.

  • Tablets for Coding with Dash and Dot

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

First, thank you again for the donation that you made. With the tablet that were provided with this project if helped with another project with Wonder Drones (Dash & Dot). That project started an was after school program for kids of 4th and 5th grade students as a pilot club called "Students that Code." These tablets help control Dash & Dot.

Dash & Dot work over Bluetooth with certain apps so it was important to get up to date tablets. There are 5 Apps that go with Dash & Dot: Wonder, Go, Xylo, Path, and Blockly. The students were excited to explore the different apps and how they effected the robots. The most liked app is Wonder.

They use Wonder to control Dash in two ways. They learned how to move Dash around and also launch the balls over the back of Dash. When they started doing that I asked them to design two obstacle courses for Dash. One group designed speed course and the other group designed a launch course. In the speed course the students maneuver Dash around using the controller in the Wonder App. They use the same controller to do the launching as well. In the pictures you will see the students using the tablets move Dash around and Launch a ball into a tub.

These robots are exciting and the tablets help bring the robots to life.”
