Virtual Learning Requires Technology
Funded Jul 31, 2020Thank you so much for your incredible generosity! With the pandemic and the need for much better technology, this laptop will allow me to be a much more effective virtual teacher for my students. It will allow me to use the most effective websites and video conferencing to deliver my lessons.
Thank you so much!”

Give My Students the World (Through Maps)
Funded Aug 17, 2019Thank you so much for the new world atlases! I teach a 9th grade human geography class so knowing where locations in the world are are obviously very important. Until your generosity I had been using very outdated and worn books. Now every student in my class has a new book to use.
My students are able to use the maps in the atlas to identify continents, oceans, countries and capitals. We do geography games to make it more entertaining. There basis of geographic knowledge makes it easier throughout the year when we are learning about different places and people around the world. On behalf of my students and me thank you again!”

Chromebook Laptops for All My Students! (1-1 Technology)
Funded Feb 28, 2019My classroom is now a 1-1 learning space, meaning every child when they come into my room has a Chromebook that they can use thanks to your generosity!
I teach high school social studies and I can easily have my students look up current events and topics that we discuss in class. I also put many of my assignments online using Google Classroom. This allows students to type and submit documents online instead of writing everything out.
Students are able to be more prepared for college as they will be doing most of their on computers when they get there. The assignments on the computer also allow me to access their work much more easily then having to bring assignments back and forth to school.
Thank you again and thank you so much for caring about my students!”

Mr. Stieber

Funded Oct 25, 2018The funding of this project allows my students to access technology daily in my classroom. Students are able to come in and get a laptop out of the cart, login to their student email, and then our Google Classroom to complete assignments. This allows our class to use less paper. The students are able to better prepare for college as our assignments are now digital, just like in college.
Students are able to start assignments in class on Google Docs and then continue the assignment at home.
The technology allows my students to have a school setting much closer to what they deserve.
Thank you so much for your donation!”

Help Our Spoken Word Poetry Team Practice
Funded Dec 12, 2011Thank you all so much for giving to this project! The digital recorders that we were able to purchase for my students and poets will allow them to continue to practice and refine their poems. These recorders will also allow them to better memorize and practice their poetry as well.
Since many of my poets are seniors I am going to let them take their recorders to college so if they wish they can use them to record their professors while they are lecturing in class.
Thank you very much for your generosity and support!”

Funded Dec 10, 2010Thank you all so much for donating these poetry books to my students and poetry team. My poetry team knows all of the poets in these books as they are all locally based poets. My students will be thrilled to be able to own a book of one of their favorite poets. I am sure one of the first things they will do once they receive the book is wait until the next time they get to see the poets in the books and ask them for their autographs in their new books!
Your generosity will mean a lot to my students and it means a lot to me. Thank you for your support!”

Eyes On The Prize Indeed
Funded Jul 28, 2010Thank you all so much for donating these videos to my classroom. When I started teaching a few years ago I meant to buy them all but each year I kept finding more urgent needs for my classroom. So instead of buying these videos I would try to rent them which proved to be a hassle if they were checked out or unavailable. In my history class I like to have the students read about a topic, discuss a topic, and if possible see some visuals of the topic. These videos that you all have donated really allow the topics covered in history class to come to life. On top of that these videos are all incredibly well done and prove to be extremely educational.
My students are also very thankful for this generous gift. Thank you again for your donation and for supporting educators. It truly makes a great difference!”

Help Our Spoken Word Team Practice!
Funded Mar 25, 2010Thank you so much for your generosity. It has been great for the students to be able to use and take home the audio recorders. It is actually pretty funny to see them walking around talking into them and then putting headphones in and listening to their poems. The kids think it is great that people are willing to donate to our poetry team!
We have a collaboration with our poetry team and the Chicago Symphomy Orchestra in the next few weeks, which is going to be an incredible experience for our poets. These recorders are allowing the poets to be very prepared and ready for this experience.
Thank you again for your generosity!”

Funded Dec 9, 2009Thank you so much for your generosity! Our school is facing a budget crisis and small things such as paper for copies have been limited for the teachers. The LCD projector that you so generously donated allows me as a teacher to limit the number of copies I need to make for my students, by being able to put up the documents that I would normally pass out to my students on the LCD.
The students are also very appreciative of the LCD projector (as you will see in their thank you letters) as it allows them to actually see what we are discussing in class. We are able to use the LCD to look at maps, pictures, and video clips that we find online.
Thank you again for your support and patience. I am sorry for the delay in sending these letters and thank you's out, the LCD projector was never located in our building until a month and a half after it had arrived.
Thank you!”

Mr. Stieber
