My school district has recently implemented a new technology initiative. This fall, every student in my school was issued a new laptop to use during the school year. As part of the new technology push, students are required to work on a learning intervention software in two of their core classes—in addition to using them for typing, testing, and research. The computer programs and applications my students use feature audio and video, which at times makes for a lot of noise in the classroom. Having a classroom-set of earbuds/headphones will ensure that students can use technology to enhance their learning in a distraction-free environment.
