Hola. I teach in a Hispanic elementary school (built in 1914) in an inner city, low wage, high poverty, high crime area with gang activity. Students are eager to learn and have a culture that values being respectful to others. Students are quick learners and high achievers. We are the number one school in our district for Accelerated Reading with over 30,000 books read each year. There is a very high rate of parental involvement on a daily basis before, during, and after school. Unfortunately, our district is in poor financial shape and cannot afford many of the educational resources found in the suburban school districts. Donors Choose donors help level the educational playing field. Gracias.
